‘There Goes My Appetite’ is one of PSAs that provides inclusive and comprehensive services. Target audience of this PSA includes all social classes and especially youth of both genders. The creation of this PSA benefits and motivates its target audience in order to take actions. It is addressing the major crime problem of narcotics and showing how the drugs are affecting the body of people. It has reduced the use of illegal drugs to remarkable point. PSA address this change by introducing some signs of fear. PSA illustrate the use of everyday household items like a frying pan or an egg. It depicts an egg as a brain and an egg in a frying pan is similar to the effects of drugs on a brain. In this way, PSA tries to encourage its target audience to get rid of all illegal drugs. Picturing an egg in a frying pan similar to the effects of drugs on human brain encourage young people and others to avoid use of drugs. However, it also discourages some of the people who use drugs but their brains are not clearly frying.
‘This Is Your Encyclopedia on Drugs’ is another PSA or an educational film highlighting the effects of drugs like marijuana on the health of its target audience that includes youngsters and teen groups. It includes the crime problems on drug addiction and legalizing marijuana that is politically very risky though it has some of economic benefits. It injects a wave of fear among its target audience by telling a story of a young boy who was fond of marijuana that led him to heroin and later he ended up in the jail. It depicts how a young boy cut the inner part of his mouth badly and he did not even know about it at the time but later found himself with blood streaming out of his mouth. PSA tries to encourage teenagers to take some actions against the use of marijuana by showing some of the most dangerous and harmful effects of it on health. PSA shows the effects of taking marijuana followed by lack of physical coordination, depression, and sleepiness in teenagers. A tragic downfall of young boy in the PSA motivates others to stay away from marijuana and all illegal drugs.
‘Way to Go, Hippies’ is one of the PSAs in which the target audience is not only the youngsters or teen groups but the elders as well. It includes the other old members of family from whom their children learn to use drugs. The major crime problem traced in the PSA is drug addiction. It has been becoming very common among children who learned apparently about drugs from their elders. They sit back, just watch their folks taking drugs, and then move into their direction. The PSA uses fear as a motivator for the elders by showing them how a son blames his father for taking him to the wrong direction. It shows that after being asked by an angry father, the son fires back on his father that he learned all about drugs and smoking from him. At this point, the PSA addresses a very positive change and encourages its target audience especially the elder members of family to abandon the use of drugs. It motivates them in strictly avoiding drugs and smoking for the betterment of their children.
‘Poison, in the Key of B’ is one of the PSAs whose target audience is kids. The kids who are attracted towards colorful prescription medicine pills. It seems to them fine and dandy candies but in actual they are not. Poison and drug abuse are the crime problems depicted in the PSA. Prescription medicine pills and bottles may be a way of poisoning them or making them addict to drugs. It features four blue hand puppets as pills to advise the kids not to eat and stay away from unknown food and stuff that they find on floor. The four blue hand puppets pill look so suspicious and they sang in high-pitched voices in a disturbingly manner to scare the kids and motivate them for possible change in behavior. It not only scared the kids away from prescription pills or bottles but also TV. The four hand puppets pills and their high-pitched voice encourage the kids not to eat them. Although, they look fine but it is not a candy and no drug abuse prescription ever look adorable. It could make them delirious.
‘Stars Wars Anti-Smoking’ is a best ever PSA that includes all youngsters, teen groups, elders and social classes in its target audience. Those people who are fond of smoking and think that they look cool to light up a cigarette. Smoking is viewed as the only crime problem in the PSA. The PSA depicts all harmful effects of smoking on our body and health. A wave of fear arises among the people when C-3PO describes all the dangers of smoking including damage to the heart and lungs. It motivates the people to avoid smoking forever. In the PSA, C-3PO and its counterpart R2-D2 encourage the people to give up smoking by emotionally depicting that the one without heart could not survive.
