E-business plays an important role in the current world to enable the business remains competitive in the market. This refers to the application of advanced technology in conducting the managerial activities of the business. The business in the modern market should therefore adopt the relevant technological advancements in running its daily activities.Broadway Cafe should use e-business in its operations in order to gain a competitive edge in the market over others or to keep its pace up. I would deploy an online strategy that will focus on sales, marketing, purchases and supplies as well as the online financial transactions. This e-business should also entail online transactions with the use of credit cards in order to provide convenience to the customers (Wood, 2002 p. 24).
In the context customer attraction the business should computerize its customer service unit. The customers should be able to pay for their purchases in the most convenient way like the use of credit cards without having to use the hard money. The business should use online marketing and advertisement in the social media and other common websites in order to have a wider scope of customers. Online marketing will enable the Broadway Café reach to many customers. The business should create an online ordering system so that the customers can request for special orders online. The Broadway Cafe should employ make their website friendly both to the business and to the other third parties like customers and suppliers. The website should be segmented such that the customers and suppliers can easily access their services in a friendly and convenient way (Butler, 2000 p. 63).
I would employ the e-business to partner with the suppliers of the cafe. E-business means that both the café and the suppliers will have a website and official e-mail addresses. These forms of communication ensure that the procurement team can visit the suppliers’ websites and place their orders in advance. The suppliers and the Café may also communicate through an e-mail instead of sending a hardcopy letter which takes a very long time. Given that there is reliable supply the customers’ demands are met and so the sales also rise.
Employee’s portal is one of the services that are offered by the Cafe’s website. Through employee’s portal, the human resource department can access demographic data, employment history, details on salary and payments, emergency contacts among others. All these data helps the human resource team to provide better administrative services and respond quickly to the problems faced by the staff. Furthermore it helps in ensuring quick processing of payrolls, preparation of reports, and accuracy in conducting performance appraisal which all benefits the employees (Wood, 2002 p. 231).. The cafe may also use the portal to educate and pass important announcements to the employees and so the staff is always kept up to date on what is happening. The cafe may also have a provision for comments and proposals towards a given project that the organization intends to do and as a result employees are a given an opportunity to make their contributions. Portal makes the work of employees working in accounting, finance, human resource and customer service easier.I will use kiosks in the café specifically the automated kiosk café because it helps in market saturation and national branding of the cafe’s products. It helps to expose different brands of the café in laser-targeted, high-traffic, profitable markets. Allows accessibility to travelers in a 24-7 system (Butler, 2000 p.152)..
