Introduction
Chemistry is one of the branches of science.it deals with reactions of substances. Chemistry is one of the most challenging subjects in the school curriculum. Most students tend to believe that chemistry is cheap due to its simplicity in mixing and analyzing results. Personally, chemistry is too overwhelming but I have learnt some of the necessary skills that can be used to bolster my performance. It can be discussed as follows;
Develop the Right Attitude
Chemistry just like other subjects is as easy as one might think. Having the right attitude towards this subject forms the basis of excelling in it. The perception that; chemistry is a complex subject seems to be the path that most students fail in it. believing in oneself and developing a positive attitude towards this subject will influence positive results to an individual. Negative attitude deprives a person of giving his or her best towards the subject. Once an individual sets his mind that he or she will fail in chemistry then it will definitely be. A positive attitude will enhance concentration in class and when undertaking personal studies.
Group Discussions
Group discussions will assist an individual in learning new ideas. Every person learns and understands chemistry in a unique way. Therefore, forming a group and discussing this subject will strengthen the understanding of chemistry. Contribution or rather participating actively in group work leads to a person getting the concepts easily and understanding the dynamics of this subject. Chemistry is simple when complex problems are worked out in a group setting. One gets to know and exhaust all the possible procedures that can be used to solve complex problems in chemistry. Group discussions also expose an individual to mind opening, by so doing; one learns and appreciates the basics of chemistry.
Undertaking Practical Lessons
Chemistry is understood much better by undertaking intensive practical lessons. In order to understand the mole concept and other major concepts I chemistry, an individual needs to undertake plenty of practical lessons in the laboratory. This exposes a learner to the real understanding of chemistry in practice.
Time Management
Time management is a key tool for success. Managing time especially in a personal timetable determines the performance of an individual. Allocating more time to a subject that an individual is weak on determines the possible outcome in chemistry. Chemistry is a complex science subject that involves a series of timely preparation for it. Therefore, when designing a personal timetable, great consideration should be given to this subject. Consistency in studying this subject will influence positive results. Time management forms the basis of success in any educational venture. Having the best time management skills guides an individual to doing the right thing at the required time. Time forms the basis of all learning steps in college. Attending classes in good time shows the seriousness aspect of a person. This creates ample time for an individual to prepare effectively for a lesson, for instance, preparing the necessary materials for the lesson. This sets the mind to the classroom environment; therefore, an individual is ready to ingest into the mind what the instructor will offer.
