Critical thinking
Critical thinking is the ability to clearly and rationally think about the things to do and what to believe (Bruce, 1999). It includes the capacity to engage in reflective and independent thinking based on personal dissemination of a situation or ideas. I listen to other people's arguments to identify their position and conclusion about a subject under discussion (Bethune & Jackling, 1997). I can identify people's political ideas and use my tactics for avoiding conflicting arguments. I usually seek to understand the logical connections between ideas while listening to the flow of information from a narrator and linking them to determine the authenticity of the ideas. I can detect inconsistency and common mistakes in reasoning (Fero et al, 2009). I can analyze the stories from my clients and employees and identify any form of mischief straight away. In such a situation, I correct them and emphasis on sincerity. I solve problems amicably and systematically as they are reported to me by the employees and clients (Bruce, 1999). I do listen to other people's point of view, but I have to make an informed and decision depending on the underlying conditions.
Elements of professionalism and etiquettes
Personal behavior is an important aspect for the well running of an institution. The way one conducts himself/herself matters so much in the eyes of other people around. I am able to communicate effectively with everyone in the organization both senior and junior (Bethune & Jackling, 1997). Communication is an important aspect of the running of corporate and other organization for a peaceful coexistence. Communication enhances sharing of information and personal feeling which is an important measure on how the management relates to the employees (Bethune & Jackling, 1997). For example, I hold a staff meeting every start of a week where I interact with everyone and get a chance to listen to their views and compliments.
Respect for everyone is necessary for the running of an organization. I accord maximum respect to every member of the organization. I listen to everyone's comments and critics and respond to them professionally (Bethune & Jackling, 1997). It is prudent to listen to all the views but maintain a leadership approach to the views of every person in the organization. I follow the professional codes and ethics when handling the human resources roles when giving promotions, annual leave, and off-duties.
The personal image in an organization influences how your colleagues and juniors will perceive you. I make sure that I arrive at the workplace earlier than anyone in most of the days to set a good example for other workers in the firm. Personal grooming is an important element in the way I carry myself in the workplace (Fero et al, 2009). It is important to set precedence for everyone so that they can imitate your image. I treat my clients and colleagues with a smile when it is necessary. I avoid bad moods and wearing a gloomy face at the workplace to enhance a good rapport in the workplace (Bethune & Jackling, 1997).
I like employing professional communication to achieve the goals of the organization. I set the mood and the necessary environment to pass different messages. My greatest moment is when everybody feels part of the team and works willingly to achieve their specific tasks in the specified time (Fero et al, 2009). My weakness is passing some compelling messages and inability to hide my emotions when issues are not working the right way. Sometimes the employees tend to carry themselves poorly in the organization because of the freedom I give them.
I like dialogue as the only way to learn from the employees. Through efficient sharing with the employees, I can learn their feeling and intentions towards the achievement of the common goal.
