Questions for 12 and 13
Questions for 12
I tried to turn the figures into recognizable shapes. I wanted them to seem complete, and for people to know what they are. I think the point of the assignment was to determine how we think, creatively, so that we can make meaning about our own way of thinking as we read through the information in 12 and 13. I really was not thinking about anything I was just completing the shapes. If I had gotten outside the box, or allowed it to be more abstract and less complex, it would have been more creative and more interesting.
I think that the first picture probably came from the highly creative group, because they are more abstract. They did not feel the need to make it something that is clear, or obvious.
I would say that there needs to be a solution found which encourages people to increase the development of the flowers. I think, for example, encouraging people to create new hybrids, and creating clear ways of protecting the new variety from the large corporate growers could help. The idea is to both create a better market for growers to emerge without threat of being shut down by larger growers, and to reduce competition, or reduce the kind of competition that squeezes out new entrants.
They need to be less abstract and more direct. Perhaps show a crying baby on the outside, and a baby that has actually suffered from the effects of shaken baby syndrome from the inside. Showing abstract images, or images of the child who is not sick does not accurately represent the concept that the brochure is talking about. It downplays the seriousness of the topic.
Think, realize, ponder, reflect, consider, feel, determine, agree, assume, imagine, rationalize, reflect, doubt, and believe.
