A metaphor is a figure of speech which basically aid in describing a subject simply by asserting that the subject by point of comparison similar to another unrelated object (Kennedy, Gioia and Bauerlein, 2008). In fact, it is an analogy that accomplishes its effects by comparison. An example would include sentences like “All the world’s a stage.” The quote is a metaphor due the fact that the world cannot be a stage literally. The author uses it figuratively to bring out a comparison between the stage and the world simply to help understand world works and those who live in it.
Genre is a form of literature and is the broadest literature category consisting of poetry, prose as well as drama. A tone on the other hand is the attitude brought by a writer to his/her material. A genre tone can therefore be communicated in writing material as serious, action packed, funny or suspenseful (Kennedy et al., 2008).
Dyadic Communication basically refers to a communication that lasts longer and takes place between two persons. It is a dialogic verbal communication involving two persons where they communicate their ideas, behavior, thought and influence each other with questions and answers (Almore, 1979). Majorly, it is a dyadic interpersonal communication. An example is the communication between Peter and Jesus. Peter put questions before Jesus while Jesus influenced him by perfectly answering his questions.
Perception is literary term that implies intuitive or immediate comprehension or cognition. It is the capability to see in light of an experience. The perception of moral, aesthetic and psychological qualities alters the world with respect to an individual’s understanding, experience and insight (Kennedy et al., 2008).
Syntax is the arrangement of words in an orderly manner to help in expressing ideas. It is the use of a standard word order as well as sentence structure of the language. It is the combining of sentence structure elements to form grammatical sentence ideas (Kennedy et al., 2008).
Imagination is the power of the human that helps in shaping artistic expression. Basically, it assists the work of a writer to become an expression of the world’s meaning. It helps readers to constantly engage in matters of importance (Kennedy et al., 2008).
