My Workplace
According to Merriam-Webster, Workplace is a place where work is done (n.d.).
While the definition of a Workplace ends here, a good workplace is the one where
employees are closely knit and take pride in their work. The essay explains my workplace
descriptively.
Being a Nurse I work at a primary prevention clinic. The clinic, though small in size, is high on
quality. It has extensive infrastructure which includes many modern medical equipment and ten
beds for the patients. The walls of the clinic are painted in white, a color soothing for both
employees and patients. The floors, made of tiles, are wiped and cleaned thrice a day to ensure
cleanliness. The staff wears white colored uniform, according to dress codes of the clinic. Due to
measures and regulations like prohibition of usage of mobile phones and instructions to the staff
The air at the clinic smells of medicines which welcomes visitors and first timers with a
characteristic odor. Visitors are made to wear hand gloves and headgear, which staff has to wear
all times, to ensure hygiene and to make sure that minimum number of people come in direct
touch with the patients. The equipment is sterilized everyday and medicines stock updated once
a week to ensure problem free services. Moreover, there is a small cafeteria at the clinic which
serves meals to patients, staff and visitors at a very affordable and reasonable price. The staff at
the clinic is very warm and hospitable and are committed towards their profession. Every
employee at the hospital trusts each other and everyone is highly professional.
One’s workplace plays an important part in how one performs professionally and it even
determines the level of satisfaction one has with his/her profession. I am very happy and content
of providing the finest care for the patients who make it to our clinic.
