Leaning is the process of acquiring skills and knowledge through teaching, study or through experience. It is a process that gives one a lifetime experience and similarly brings about permanent change in one's behavior. Learning in the 21st century has become very effective, as a matter of choice, you can either enroll in a traditional program where you will attend classes or enroll in an all-online program. Over the years, online learning has been absorbed into many learning institutions, studies suggesting that online learning is more effective and also convenient.
Online learning allows students to work at their own convenience at a place and a time of their choosing. This is much considerate especially for students or single parents who want to schedule that meets their demand. Consequently, those students that are not self-motivated could find it an uphill task and may even lag behind since there is minimal supervision by the staff and support. Unlike online learning, traditional learning is more engaging and interactive. Traditional learning is learning in class and it is face to face where the teachers interact with the students in a number of ways when asking questions, handing out assignments or through other programs in the school system. Through these interactions students could benefit directly academically and socially. Arguably, both the online and the traditional learning have interactive forums where online students interact with their instructors online through video conversations.
The primary reason for being in class is to simply develop and learn new skills. It could be strenuous for online students to manage online course work without the direct feedback from the teacher or instructor. However online lessons have unique opportunities and skills for their students. With the traditional system of learning, students have all they need to develop in all areas of education, use of books on learning enables them to calculate and figure out problems better. Consequently they are able to manage and handle more problems at their level. This engagement enables them to develop learning skills.
There is continuous access to learning facilities like the library in online learning. Online students are gaining that privilege of accessing facilities due to the fact that they only have limited time around the institutions. It is a plus for them since they can easily and conveniently get access to the information they need. Traditional learning however is stiff and has rules and regulations on the use of learning facilities. A traditional student may not access for instance the library at some odd hours whether he has a valid reason or it’s an emergency reason being that rules and regulations should be followed and adhered to. As a result of the event, the student ends up losing the information he wanted to get due to the strains under his enrollment.
Traditional students have the privileges of getting financial aids from the school administration in case of an emergence, physical campuses for instance lend loans to students while the under the online system of learning, online students do not have that privilege.
The two systems of education are diverse in many ways and it is therefore the initiative of the government and the stakeholders of the institutions to invest more in education in order to meet the required goal stands of education.
