Leadership involves determination, persistence, and time. As a leader, one should be able to define and understand his or her own purpose. Purpose can be perceived as an objective or goal which guides act in reaching an aim in a specific perspective (Craig, & Snook, 2014). One has to be driven or motivated by passion and strength to work skilfully to be able to accomplish specific or personal intentions. For instance, if I would turn out to be a corporate leader, several investors would be relying for me to perform effectively and display great stewardship. There are also other important areas of a certain company that needs cautious handling like the customers, communities and employees. As a leader, I believe that my purpose has to be focused on achieving the company’s goals but correspondingly passionate in terms of handling to the different needs of the company.
Furthermore, I believe that the same my purpose has to be related or parallel with the community of individuals such as customers, shareholders and the employees. Each and every one in the company should be motivated with the same determination. I seriously think that a leader should ensure that the people involved in the company should feel that they are part of the company’s mission to achieve success (Harrison, 2011). Everybody should be dedicated to each of their roles and committed to the standards of the company. Leadership is not based merely on control and power but on caring and guiding for workers and clienteles.
As a leader in an organization, one should make certain that every employee knows his responsibility. This notion means that each employee is equipped with the knowledge about the products or services that the company is trying to promote or sell. They should also able to identify the strength and weaknesses in the different areas or aspects of the company for this idea would keep them guided on what are the appropriate things to do in the event that a complication may occur. This idea is directly related to the fact that the employees and all the people involved in the company should be knowledgeable of the company’s specific rules and regulation so that miscommunication or misinterpretation is not likely to happen. Orientation programs, seminars and other related conferences should be made available to the people in the organization so that there will continuous improvement in the quality and skills. It is also imperative that there should be proper monitoring on the performances of the employees and forms of rewards should be afforded to them. I believe this notion would keep them not just interested to continue to work for the company but more on making the employees feel that they are appreciated. As a leader, I should make sure that there would be constant communication between the company and the stakeholders, clients and customers (Partridge, 2014). I believe that open communication would keep the smooth flow of every transaction and operation. This particular way would also serve as an instrument that could detect possible complications. In this manner, prevention and precautionary measures are made before matters would become unmanageable. It is also possible that excellent and useful ideas could be drawn from the employees and the customers if open communication is practiced in the company. I want to empower each employee or client for if everyone in the company is empowered, aside from generating well-crafted products and an ingenious marketing operation, they would surely help me to attain a long-term triumph.
On the other hand, if one would want to implement open communication in an organization, I think a leader should also consider enhancing his personality through the concept of charisma. It is not just a common behavioural feature that a leader should develop for it signifies as a force of personality. I believe that one becomes a leader if he or she has a strong charismatic personal appeal. It is a very powerful tool for one to be remarked, listened to, appreciated, and followed. A leader’s personality should be compelling for those he or she would lead, speak, teach, sell and relate with. Charisma is also very useful in times when there are challenges to face with like confrontations, complaints and negotiations. One’s charismatic appeal could be utilize in handling matters such as people who desire to replace one’s position and for thinking that they are better than you as the leader. Possible threats in one’s position as a leader are undeniable and so I believe that continuous personality enhancements should be welcomed.
As a final point, the philosophies of being a leader generally mean that one should be able to inspire instead of trying to manipulate people. An organization would be successful if it has leader that is dedicated to motivate people in fulfilling their respective tasks. Project-supervision, solving problems, pioneering and facilitating are some of the responsibilities of a leader. However, realizing these tasks does not only mean that one should just complete it without considering other important factors (Walters, 2014). Success depends on how a certain leader performed all of these necessary tasks. It is very important to note that if the leader carefully considers the welfare of all the employees and the profitability of the clients, the very same people would help the company in return.
The philosophy of being a leader should serve as a gauge or guideline to direct the company into positive outcomes. Simon Sinek’s golden circle evidently outlines things that a leader should embody to foster positive and harmonious culture in one’s company. An effective leader will direct that circle precisely to every edges of the organization. I believe that if I would be able to implement the true concepts related by the golden circle, my very own company would run efficiently towards the goals aspire to achieve (Meyers, 2013). I would just make sure that my way of consideration and strength of character would positively encourage the people inside and outside the company. I would become a leader instilled with compelling personality and driven by ethical principles to motivate, teach and develop people in an organization.
