Arguably, making a decision to purchase is driven by various factors. In the business field, it is always asserted that the consumer is a rational being, meaning he/she has the power to make decisions on what choice to make. In fact, the rationality of the consumer is assumed to mean that the consumer will always choose to purchase the best product at the minimum cost with an aim of maximizing utility. Hence, there are various factors that influence me to make a decision on whether to purchase a product or not. In the market place, it is clear that the consumer is influenced by advertisements in making a purchase. There are advertisements that I pay attention to, while I do not pay attention to others. Probably, there is a way in which this advertisement could attract me more to a product. In the general perspective, these advertisements are meant to influence a certain age, gender, daily patterns of life, income, as well as race.
There are various factors that influence me in making a purchase. I my age occupation and economic status influence me in making purchases. As a matter of fact, my choice of purchase has been changing as the years go by. For example, age has changed my taste for certain food and recreational activities; hence, age has made me purchase services and goods of my age. Perhaps, these factors can be viewed as my personal factors that drive my choice to purchase. In addition, my perception, knowledge, lifestyle and attitude influence me to make a purchase in the market place.
Marketing also influences my choice to make a purchase. Perhaps, marketing has various mix, which all or some drives me in making a purchase. These marketing components include price, distribution, service, promotions, as well as product. The marketing mix familiarizes me on the service or product. My social environs also have been driving me to make a purchase; these include my family, roles and peers. In fact, my family is one of the strongest influences in my purchasing behavior. In society, culture is particularly crucial; therefore, it influences my culture in making a purchase. The product or service that I purchase must be in alignment with my culture and religious practices.
I pay more attention to advisement pertaining household products and foodstuff, which is mostly carried out on television. On the other hand, I do not pay attention to advertisements related to alcohols and other alcoholic drinks. According to my age, gender, and lifestyle I feel the advertisements that are meant for me is the one that deals with foodstuff and household products, since they use successful people and celebrities to carry out the advertisement. This analytically utilizes attractive issues that capture individuals of my age and lifestyle.
Conversely, this advertisement could attract me better to the product by making the advert more realistic and truthful. In most cases, advertisements carry a lot of exaggeration as compared to the product in question. The advertisement could attract me more to the product if the advertisement connects better with the image they present. In fact, an advert should connect me directly to the product. The advert will also attract me more if the headline of the advert grabs my attention and emotional response. Generally, advertisements play a big role in ensuring that the client is attracted to make a purchase. I believe there are several factors that influence choice to purchase; it includes social, psychological, and personal factors.
