Corruption is the unjustified of power by an individual or individuals in s position of power or public office in one’s country. In this paper I will focus on North Korea as my country of choice for the study regarding its high level of corruption and showcase and highlight on the various actions that have led to great form of corruption like bribery. I will majorly emphasis on the abuse of power due to the within the government police within this country.
Corruption in North Korea is an extensive and rising tricky operation in the North Korean society. The country, North Korea, is ranked close to the bottom of the Transparency International's 2012 Corruption Perceptions Index. It ranked 174 out of 176 in the last year rankings, 2012. This country is characterized by stringent rules and punishments that are imposed by the regime government.
The various causes of corruption that are contributing factors to the high levels of bribery are the governmental structure of a one man monarch style of leadership that majorly promotes communism and dictatorship. The two major leaders Kim and his son who succeeded him practiced a great abuse of power that affected the private lives citizens in the country. The high and top elites in the North Korean government authority since there are no accountability reformists and committees that are put in place to protect the regular citizen.
The country is located in the Southern parts of the Asian continent probably much closer to China. The country is known for its high level of secrecy and its seclusion from the outside world and the information for the international community. This is why the private citizens, well, most of them do not have access to the outside information not until a few years back when they were allowed to access a limited and monitored amount of information.
