George Washington Carver, born in slavery, understood education as the golden door to freedom. Personally, I think he was absolutely right. Education will give me choice what to do in life and will turn different dreams to reality. In such a way I can get a job developing my potential, as a result improve my lifestyle, and acquire my social reputation. Moreover, to my mind, both state and I will benefit as I am sure to be more useful to the society as an office worker than as a dishwasher. Besides, if I earn more money I will be able to support my family and become financially-confident and independent. Frankly speaking, my dream is to be educated, so that my future children could be proud of me. A university will widen my outlook and I hope to give better education to my kids as well. Generally speaking, learning new languages is really important nowadays to communicate with people over the world and I am looking forward to learning some more and use them in my future career. In other words education will make me a successful citizen, confident in myself and my future.
As every human being, I have got educational goals to achieve. First of all, I need to do my best in my college classes to get the best possible GPA. As you see it, this makes my short term goal. I need it to enter the university, I like. My long term educational goal is to acquire my MBA. This will show my results in higher education and will increase my chances to get a job that offers more opportunities to me. Besides, after achieving the both goals, I will prove myself, I can do it!
A scholarship will help me reach my goal to get a good education. In such a way I will work less and focus on my school, think less of paying the tuition. The scholarship will help me finish my school faster, it will help me join the university of my dream, and after it I can get a better job. A scholarship is sure to develop my potential as a student, then as an administrator.
If you do not mind me saying, I am a hard worker, as last semester I used to work 5 days a week, from 5pm to 5am. Moreover, I took full time classes in school. Regardless of my busy schedule, I was doing well in my classes, I got an A+ in Survey of Calculus, A in Accounting. My grade in Introduction to Business is B, though I am sure to get A+ if that class had not been on Mondays at 9am. I used to get off work at 5am and arrived at my class just in time, but it was difficult to focus on the subject.
I am sure I can change myself, and the world. I've no doubt at all that I deserve a scholarship, because I am industrious, persistent, reliable, creative, punctual and strong-willed. I will do my best to change my life and lives of others for better. The only thing I really need now is more time to devote to my classes, and a scholarship makes it very possible.
I am an independent person now, compared to when I left my Morocco, my family and my friends in 18, to come to the USA. At first I did not know anyone; I was not good at the language, though I learned it in a short period of time. I worked as a dishwasher, a housekeeper, and a server just to save up money for my school. And now I am studying and working hard to make it in the world.
