Documentary records indicate that, over decades music has been used in varied occasions due to its therapy values. Ceremonial religious music is Christian songs that provide healing to humanity. Religious music plays a role in elevating the human spirit. Moreover, religious moral, and attributes are expressed through ceremonial music. This trend thereby provides a framework that members learn and practice.it also transcends sensual attractions to goodness.
Catholic music in a catholic context is referred to as the real religious hymn as an exalted prayer. The music displays religious feelings through expressions; it is a way through which Catholics obey Gods conviction and enhances Holy Ghost inspiration and close liturgical connection (Gietmann p. 16). The music is usually organized; from the instruments and action, consequently constituting the component of the liturgy or public worship. The division in tempo, rhythm, measure, voice, tone and instrument adapts the liturgical action, and the wording is composed as a prayer. The purpose of this music is ultimately to serve the divine services through edifying faithfulness. According to catholic doctrine, the interest of Catholic Church music should never be ignored by the music composers of performers. This trend is because Catholics demonstrates music in liturgical sacredness; as universal prayer providing details that should be followed in terms of vessels, words and actions in order to fulfill spiritual duties (Gietmann p. 26).
The global binding of catholic music depends on the regulations contained in ceremonial councils of popes. Catholic music is required to be watched by bishops so that all catholic congregation and followers compose and followed the proper character. These characters generally compel the catholic obedience. The quality of catholic music is always in conformity with the purpose, place and time of divine worship; that is, it should be sacred like the church (Gietmann p. 34). The consciousness of catholic music is constructed and performed in harmonic combinations. The instrumental virtuosity and the joyous tonal connects with the mass to devout sacrificial reconnection and combined heartfelt prayers.
On the other hand, Buddhism refers to nontheistic religion that includes traditional practices and beliefs based on religious education attributed to Buddha. Buddhism music provides a way of creating peace within oneself. The music expresses happiness and contentment (Gyatso p. 16). The music develops the intrinsic peace, wisdom and kindness to its congregation. Buddhist music and art provide a way to understand and touch the hearts of their congregation. When the composition of Buddhist is put together, it provides a journey to one's deepest heart. Buddhist believes that, their music triggers meditation and the religious teachings enrich their growth; the music also enlightens Buddhist on how to treat other members of the society. Buddhist describes their music as anti-pop. The composition and the way of performing provide a combination of dreamy, atmospheric images and sounds. Through their music, Buddhism promotes peace not only to the followers but to the entire world. This is also not only practiced in the temple, but also in organized festivals (Gyatso p. 24).
In conclusion, the general spiritual music has a common ultimate purpose. It is notable that, despite the mixture of faith, ranging from Christian, Jewish, Islam, Buddhist and Hindu, their ceremonial religious songs shares a common purpose of uniting, elevating and transcending the human spirit. Therefore, all faiths are virtuously connected together in music.
