In picture D we see a family of three, who have come out to have a picnic. This is most likely a family living in a city and this outing for them is like a small vacation. Being able to leave the smoggy city, hit the road, and find a peaceful spot in the beautiful nature truly is a breath of fresh air for them.
The mom had probably spent at least the whole morning preparing. Someone had to buy all the fruits, vegetables, drinks and everything possibly needed in advance. My guess is that apart from all the things in the top of the basket, there are probably sandwiches or perhaps even something tastier at the bottom as well.
This seems like a very happy family. We see all of them working together, preparing the table. The little girl is raising her hand either from excitement or willingness to help. Whichever it is, she is definitely glad to be spending the day outside in the fresh air with her beloved parents.
As for the season, we can say that it is definitely no longer summer. The leaves on the trees are still green. However, the father and daughter are dressed a bit too warm for summer. Consequently, we can come to a conclusion that this took place either in early spring or in early autumn. Nevertheless, we cannot know for sure, because for all we know, it might just have been a chilly summer morning.
All in all, picture D shows a happy family obviously enjoying their time and spending it in the fresh air. They are all working together on preparing their picnic and will for sure enjoy it.
