In this piece, I would like to strongly agree with the notion that it is the victims of rape who should be held responsible for their ordeals. Actually, it is those who are raped who should be blame instead of the rapists. This is based on the fact that many of the rape incidences occur under the conditions that would otherwise be avoided by the victims especially the women.
Women play a very important role in the raping process. It is them who make themselves vulnerable to this unethical act in many ways. They usually expose their nakedness by dressing provocatively and accept to sleep with the rapists instead of protesting. Besides, they neglect their safety. Instead, they walk alone in insecure places, an action that puts them in a dangerous position by jeopardizing their security. Lastly, it is them who encourage this vice since they often fail to report rape case to the law enforcers for a legal action. Sadly, this ends up motivating the potential rapists.
However, I would like to suggest that this is a scenario that can be absolutely eliminated in our society. People, particularly women, should strongly come up to condemn raping. They should personally struggle to refrain from any situation that can expose them to these inhumane beasts. Finally, the general societal perception of women as sex tools should be avoided. Instead, they should be viewed as equally important individuals who have a vital role to play in our midst. Hence, they should enjoy optimal protection from the state and other law enforcing organs in the community.
