A child was submitted to the surprises of pubertal spurts during high school. This journey encompasses from growing of a mustache, or curves, to behaving like a gentleman or a lady. All the more interesting as practically everyone in class undergoes the same process simultaneously. For instance, one student would enter the campus as a short and squeaky young boy but would finally exit it as a tall and handsome young man. Being a student at this period required coping with these significant changes while boding well with academic learning.
The beginning of freshman year was a mixture of dread and excitement. Anxiety takes place when perceiving what it would be like to progress to a higher level of learning. Still, the anticipation of having adventures with newfound friends can be agreed as one of the most colorful memories a person can have.
A common proverb stated that friends are a reflection of what a person is. In this case, sense of belonging and fitting in was a constant dilemma for someone just entering high school. Many stereotypes arise during this time and onset of cliques become sources of inspiration or discouragement. At this point, a steady principle about individuality can either be broken or developed.
Peer pressure at school campus is a common trend. A good foundation at home can be put into test during trying times like this. A student with firm grasp of acquired discipline from guardians are unruffled by these issues. Moreover, this pattern paves way to a strong personality. These types of pupil were commonly seen as positive influences which include presidents, or leaders among the student body. Meanwhile, someone with very little to no parental supervision may be easily seduced to delinquency and misguidance.
Matters at school sometimes constitute a large bulk of the problems encountered during the teenage years. These can be between classmates, or faculty to student conflicts. Younger individuals frequently feel like they were misunderstood, this escalates to unmanageable behaviors and rebellious deeds. When a person goes through this phase in life, it often proceeds to something reckless such as teenage pregnancies. A report from Tennessee confirmed that ninety high school girls had a baby as a product of pre-marital sex ("90 Pregnancies at One High School"). A lot of troubles in school may contribute to demotivation of a student at this period of curiosity and confusion. According to statistics, about one in every five student dropped out on high school in 2013 ("Dropout Crisis Facts"). A handful of these students were seen to have participated to law-breaking activities. School programs must be enhanced to inculcate the importance of schooling.
Looking back, adolescence was like assuming a role play of self-discovery. High school provided the stage, faculties--the supporting casts and peers as co-stars. Each scene entitles a chance for cultivation of character and self-worth. The years spent would pass by but the invaluable lessons left behind, bad or good, are carried on throughout a lifetime. High school offered an array of experiences and it is up to the person to pick up the pieces which can be of use for later life.
Personal growth is further refined in high school. It is where a student enhances skills and talents as tools for the future. Various curricular events promote the opportunity to determine the capability and competency of a student. It is a critical time to initially plan ahead.
Primary thoughts about selection of a degree mainly happen during high school. The difficulty of this decision is highly dependent of the pupil. Students who did not reserve some space to practice one’s own passion and expertise would go through a tough time in choosing which type of career to pursue. On the other hand, it would be a clear choice for someone who promptly integrated interest with academic work.
Taking the ACT or the college readiness assessment test can add to the stress of any high school student. Anyone who advanced to college can remember the hours devoted to studying and reviewing condensed books that embody four years of education in high school. Even then, successfully completing this examination still brings forth another one: acceptance to a University.
All of this runs amok a high school student’s mind. These days were the crucial building blocks of a person about to make career-oriented decisions. There are probabilities that someone who felt like a failure in high school still perform commendably in college. Nonetheless, taking the early chance to better oneself readies a person to confront and overcome more complex obstacles. This responsiveness makes up a well-rounded high school graduate. The diploma received should be a representation of knowledge and maturity.
