It has taken a cause and effect kind of approach that is essential for the understanding of the offenders and their relationships to the kind of offence they have been sentenced to. The article looks at the population in prisons through the establishment of qualitative analysis of the demographics in prisons on a yearly basis(Sorensen, 2000). Through such a qualitative analysis, it can give the actual representation of the offences and the issue of prison violence. The article has used the process approach all the way to the conclusion.
