Question: Evaluation of training of correctional workers
Design: The main objective of the author is to plug in the important subjects of correctional training. He discusses issues that are extremely important to correctional staff. The author examines the benefits of training correctional workers apart from the need to get “their in hours”. He also examines the key attitudes to correctional workers training. He also highlights the topics to be considered during training.
Results: The author finds that training of correctional workers is important to in ensuring safety and increasing knowledge and skills of the officers. In the research the author finds out the key attitudes that underscore law enforcement including training of correctional officers.
Discussion: Based on the research, the author states the fundamental goals of training correctional officers. First is to improve the job performance of the trained individual and to enhance the ability to to handle increasing levels of irresponsibility in the correctional facilities. The author highlights the topics to be considered for training activities which include motivation to learn new skills, improvement on the job, and responsibility of the trainees and continuity of training throughout the career of the worker. I concur with the author in stating that continuous training makes good promotional candidates and also increases chances of an individual getting promoted.
Generalization: Correctional training is vital in the career of correctional workers. The training increases the chances of promotion, improves the knowledge and professional skills of the individuals, it creates an open mindedness of the trainee and also improves how a correctional worker responds to challenges in their working environment. The article evaluates fully training of correctional workers.
