In the 21st century, the aspect of individualization is very high. This implies that most people are more attached to themselves rather that the community. Even if the world has become too mobile, family still remains one of the fundamental aspects for many people. It is worth noting that the definition of family varies from one society to another. In addition, people define their family based on what they believe and identify themselves to. Most of the people in the globe put family and family issues in their top priority. Germany is one of the societies with many inhabitants. It is a cosmopolitan nation, whereby society and individuals are shaped by the ethnocultural diversity and pluralistic lifestyles (McGoldrick, Giordano, & Garcia-Preto, 2005). The idea of family and its structure has changed due to social change. In the traditional way, the roles were strictly divided and upbringing of children was also part of family issues. These perspectives have changed in the 21st century. In the general perspective, there are major family characteristic, history, expectations, behaviors, beliefs, values of individual ethnic heritage.
Based on my own family, it is comprised of me, my wife and two dogs. In the modern world, family characteristics and exploration of German family ethnicity have tremendously changed. In the recent decades, household in Germany has tremendously decreased. It is worth noting that, in Germany, many of the families are one-generation households. This refers to a family of couple household without children or one-person. People in Germany also keep pets as part of their family. Having a dog in the family is actually part of the socialization and interactive process. Studies show that most of the population in Germany comprise of adults only without children. This is an apparent indication of the type of family Germanys is comfortable of.
Just like most of the developed nations in the world, Germany is in the record for fewer marriages and smaller families compared to other countries. The divorce rate and failure to reproduce children is a striking issue. Statistics shows that one person and two person households are in the increase, compared to more people family. The families in Germany are actually moving from the traditional mode of life, based on the fact that there is a manifestation of sexual freedom (Peters, 2008). This means that individuals can have children out of wedlock. Marriage has basically lost its position since people get into relationships and live together for various reasons.
The German family values stem from the culture and beliefs of the people. The role of the principle values of family is evident in everyday lives. The German families in urban set ups are employed and does not focus on having children, In the rural set up, families still focus on the traditional way of life and coexistence. Family values I Germany are the morals and ideas that are important for a healthy family (Peterson & Bush, 2013). As a matter of fact, family values focus more on the interaction that takes place between members of the family, in this case man, wife and the two dogs. The communication is mutual and of good standards based on the fact that there are few members of the family. Spending time entails German family values, whereby both all the members of the family based on the definition socialize together. Each member of the family respects the other members and everyone undertakes their roles to avoid any sort of misunderstanding. The family values in Germany are based on responsibility freedom, as well as strong work ethics.
In Germany, the kingship group is probably defined by law and it considered nuclear family mostly of the opposite sex. It is evident that the German family heritage did not begin until the middle ages. Based on the modernization of the world, it is not clear on the issue of family heritage and lineage. The families in Germany are too independent in the sense that it has been streamlined to the nuclear family. The far that can be asserted on issues related to lineage and family relationship is the grandparents, of which they also live their life. This implies that the heritage and family kinship has totally been disconnected, what is important is the nuclear family made of the husband, wife, and pets.
The expectation of German family ethnicity is based on making the members of the family comfortable. One of the family expectations is to achieve financial stability. In this perspective, the resources should sustain the family currently and in the future. The members of the family support each other on generating wealth that will make them live comfortably (McGoldrick, Giordano & Garcia-Preto, 2005). There are interesting dynamics in the expectations of family, which involve finding sense of self, celebrating and socializing. Additionally, the family expectations are crucial entails living morally and ethically with the members of the family.
Growing up in a dynamic world bring in a lot of changes. In Germany, the generalized characteristics of socializing with various members of the family seem not to be a reality. In most cases, people assert that the extended family is worth since it makes life interesting. Based on the dynamic nature of the world, nuclear family seems to be the best. It eliminates a lot of conflicts and makes one remain focused on their own life (Kingsbury, 2006). Satisfying all members of extended family is complex and drains resources and energy, what is essential is solving the issues of a family comprising a husband, wife and two dogs.
Basically, Germans are great fans of animals and nature. This is a reality in the family since most of the income is used to have fun and enjoy the nature. The family dogs are very essential and make life complete. It is worth noting that the family dogs are trained and intelligent enough to be devoted to the family. The dogs in Germany are part of the family and fit within family devotion, loyalty and affection. The health of the dogs and cleanliness are very crucial, and it is part of family schedule and chores. Dogs are wonderful animals that make the family complete.
Within the family setup, there are rules and regulations that guide each member of the family. It is worth noting that the rules and regulations stated in the family help in enhancing peaceful co-existence among the members of the family. The dogs are part of family rules and regulations, and since they are intelligent it is believed that they fit within the family system. Roles and duties are actually crucial to each member of the family.
Family is one of the important parts of every society. It is evident that the dynamic nature of German families changes the perception and family structures. Families in Germany are mostly one-generation that comprise of husband and wife, with no children. The dogs are part of most American family and make the family complete. The values, history, behaviors, expectations and rules make up the German families.
