Question 1
Gender inequality is considered as a social problem that becomes the reason for the inequitable treatment of people belonging to different genders. When it comes to gender discrimination, girls are regarded as the main victims as they regularly receive a smaller amount food as compared to boys in the family, and they get lesser chance to complete their education as well. The question set out for this paper is how does gender inequality affect lives of female members in the society?
Primarily, gender discrimination has negative impacts on the scale of the population that affects the lives of female members in society. According to statistics of the family planning programs, in some families, the desire to have a son mislays the balance between two different genders. Regrettably, girls are repeatedly denied medical treatment as well (Finkelstein, 2009). Gender discrimination is creating a lot of issues in lives of girls particularly, as in many parts of the world, men are considered as the head of the family, and they are allowed to fulfill their wishes, they can study and can get all the latest technological gadgets. At times family cares more about the health of their son. All these discrimination pessimistically affects the lives of women, as family hardly as, at times, family hardly care about the healthiness and physical condition of their daughters.
Secondly, the inequity of genders affects the educational circumstances of a female child as well. Education plays a significant role in the development of humankind and girls even have the rights to complete their education (Zajda, 2010). There is countless observed evidence that improvement in women education develops human growth outcomes, as education gives them the power to fight with the challenges and obstacles present in the cultural, technological, professional, or personal level. ). Unfortunately, in the phase of education, male are prone to get better opportunities to go to school.
Question 2
In the present era, the inconsistency that makes female suffer difficulties and places women into objectionable circumstances is observable in all field of life. The article from NewsOk illustrates that how gender discrimination accelerates at the place of work as the salaries paid to the women employees are not equivalent to the salaries paid to the male employees (Turner, 2016). However, salary is not the only issue, in fact, women employees in the offices are treated in a much strange manner, and at times their opinions are not considered for the company. Female employees in offices are always being targeted for not having an acceptable degree to get promotion as in Asian and African families; female seemed to get lesser opportunity to obtain a higher education degree. Even though there are many women, who are having higher positions in prestigious companies, but the other male employees still permeate the place of work, limiting the opportunities for women.
Another article of Guardian Careers signifies that how women are regularly enforced to decide between their career and family (Paul, 2012). It is estimated that more than 51% women in the offices are forced by their family to quit their job and give time to their family and children. Similarly, in the interviewing session, female candidates are usually questioned about their children and marital status.
Gender discrimination has become a social issue all over the globe; Men are considered as more valuable than women in the society, and it is disheartening for all the women. Women are not treated in a fair manner at their homes, educational institutes, and workplaces. The government and international organization should implement some prominent laws to ensure the safety and prosperity of womanhood, and they should initiate social awareness program to teach people about the disadvantages of gender discrimination and benefits of women empowerment.
