Everyone in life sets goals and targets to accomplish them within a specific time target. People set goals for the future in the thought that within six months or less, they will have already achieved their goals. Objectives make a person to view oneself in the position one would like to be in a few years or months’ time. Goals also serve as motivators and strengthening factors. There are the reasons why people act in determined ways. Life is gigantic, and if anyone wants to achieve outstanding achievements in their lives one is required to set goals accordingly so that in life one is always perspective.
Goals are achievements one would want to achieve in the near future. In the near future, I would like to be finishing a marathon race. Therefore, my goal is to finish a marathon race. Setting my goal of finishing a marathon, will require the need to work extra harder as my motivation and strength to finish the race. Working on my endurance will be the starting point so that I will be able to finish the race. Therefore, working on endurance will enable one finish the race.
Finishing a marathon, as my goal is a worthy target, whether one will walk or run or use both covering over 25 miles is never an easy task. It is, therefore, a challenging act, but is worth being fulfilled. This is because there are many benefits along my practices and goal achievements. Some of them are fitness of the body, improvement of mental capacities and endurance. Dealing with the reality part rather than the fantasy is the most challenging. Many are the times I tire and move out of the race even before covering three quarters of the race. Therefore, my set target is that in the next marathon race, irrespective of the method one uses I must finish the race. Working on my endurance is my starting point. There will be also need to be running each an everyday as part of my training session and walking for long distances. My speed and duration is not very important until I get achieve the target.
Proper marathon training begins with one setting reachable goal that corresponds with one ability and fitness. It is known that it never matters with the greatness of one’s training methods or one's dedication, but rather the goal one has. Someone without realistic goals is always headed to failure. Therefore, my plans are to run erratically during my walks while decreasing my time in favor of raising my running time. Later, I would increase my running time and the distance to my kilometer goal that in return will have enabled me to increase my endurance in the race.
Visualizing one at the end of lifespan is very important. One would want to be proud of the things he or she did on the youth stage. Therefore, it is important to have a purpose in life and to achieve it. Putting a record of it and viewing it in the future, brings life fulfillment.
Goals should be realistic, but challenging. The goals should also have the quality of being measurable so that one can measure the level of achievement. Having an achievable plan helps one plot a plan. It also builds one confidence and helps in maintained of positive attitude and control. Finally, if I achieve the goal of finishing the marathon, I will record it, and then start improving with my duration with time.
