Goal of Need Statement
Goals refer to a long-term intention of an organization that it wants to attain by rolling out a certain program (Karsh, 2014). In this case, through a five-year master plan, the goal of the organization is to improve the quality of lives of local low-income Latino seniors in the D.C area.
Objectives of the program
Objectives are outcomes that an organization expects to achieve from implementing the goal. They assess the success or failure of the organization in meeting its goal (Karsh, 2014). The objectives are:
Methods
Training
The staff would be trained in Spanish language. The class that is supposed to last for three years will meet twice a week at least for one hour. It is expected that in one-year time, 50% of the staff will be bilingual while 90% will have a working knowledge about Spanish language.Marketing of the Centre
Four months after rolling out the Spanish classes, the staff together with volunteers will engage in a marketing campaign. They will hang posters and give out flyers about the organization. Campaign will also be conducted online targeting the families of the low-income Latino seniors. The campaign will last for one month and would be repeated after every six months. At the end of the campaign, the party will be hosted in the communities with a high level of low-income Latinos where they will be offered free food and other benefits. They will be informed on the reasons why they should join the senior center. In between the campaign, the staff will visit these communities to seek their views on how best the center could improve its service so as to improve their quality of life.
