Venus Revenge
The house perched on a cliff overlooking the bright blue bay. The channel that ran under the house had risen from the tide that came in, in the early evening. The water kissed the floor of the little house and made a slurping sound. Venus stirred in her sleep. She rolled over on a large, hard bed and felt the handle of her sword pressing in the small of her back. She jumped with a start as she feared it was the hands of her enemy. His fingers had felt like that when he tried to caress her soft, supple skin. She shook her head, and clenched her fists tight, trying to forget that faithful day ten years ago when it happened. The sharp pain coursed through her arm, and she vowed that she would get her revenge, some way or the other. They had had an encounter, and this surely was not the last. This encounter had left her sore. In one corner of the large, dark room stood a table with her prized possessions; a portrait of her mother and father and a battered gramophone which her grandmother had given her on her tenth birthday. She slowly got up and tried to walk across the floor. Her feet connected with the cold, hardboard, and she cringed from the pain that shot through her whole body. Outside the sea crashes against the cliffs below her window and she opened a small window and the salt from the spray stung her eyes. Tears streamed down her rosy cheeks, and she quickly wiped them away. No one should see her cry. He had seen her tears, and that would never happen again. She had vowed at her mother’s funeral that no one would be good enough to see her cry. That made her shudder, and she felt unclean. She closed the narrow window and hastened to the bathroom. This room was her sanctuary. The bright pink and cream colored tiles shone beautifully, and she stepped into the clear, cool water without taking off her nightgown. The soothing waters caressed her breast, and she closed her eyes and reflected on her past. Her female charm had got her into this predicament, and she vowed that she would get her ultimate revenge.
She spurred the horse, and it galloped like the wind. Black beauty was her stallion. Her jet black hair streamed in the wind, and she felt the tingling of her scalp and a stirring in her loins. She was in heaven, basking in her glory. She often did this when she wanted to clear her mind. Today, her aim was to ride her mare to the top of Devil’s Mount. Her horse was in for a treat. They sped through trees, breaking off limbs and scattering leaves as they flew along. She did not see it coming, and the sudden impact made her slide down the horse’s neck and landed in the tall grass. The horse jumped and snorted and almost stepped on her. This incident did not cause her to lose her sense of awareness. Out of the corner of her eye she saw it. A huge, black horse perched on top of a null, looked at her with baleful eyes. A grotesque figure was its rider. Something grew inside of her. It was the same feeling that had come over her ten years ago. Now it felt stronger, and she felt invincible. She knew this would not be an easy battle but she vow to win. She got up. Her five feet frame no match for his six feet two inches. She screamed his name, and the sound echoed in her head.
“Johnathan, what do you think you are doing?” “You will never get your way a second time”. “No, not until the sun stops shining!”.
“You look so beautiful today. Your beauty is radiating like the sun. I want to kiss those juicy lips of yours.”
“Youyou. despicable villain!” She shouted. “Do you think you will get your way with me again?”
Her eyes blazed with fire and beads of perspiration stood out on her forehead.
“Oh my sweet Venus, I will have you when I want, how I want.”
“Johnathan, what do you think you are doing?” “You will never get your way a second time”. “No, not until the sun stops shining!”.
He did not like to be rejected. Venus was doing it again. He wanted her so badly and she would not give in to her advances. He almost regretted raping her but he had to show her that he was man. The rage started to build in him and he bellowed back at her.
“Oh yes, I got you once and I am gonna get you again”. His eyes gleamed with outrage in the warm midday sun. She was making him mad again.
“You took me against my will and you will never do that again. I will fight to the death this time.”
Venus’ face grew pink with rage, and she shook her tiny fists at him. She felt her back getting tight and her dress popped at the seams. Her powers were getting stronger. She would rip his heart out and trample it in the ground. He had ravaged her and took away her dignity. She was the most beautiful girl in her village and everyday he would come to her window and sing love songs to her.
“I will cut your tongue out if you ever try to kiss me again, you rogue”.
He laughed, and a swift wind blew warm in Venus’ face. This man was no ordinary man, but Venus would show him who had the ultimate power. He had raped her when she was ten years old. Her mother had gone to visit her grandmother on the other side of the village. She was left to tend to the chickens while she was away. Walking back from the chicken coop, she was pounced upon by this man. He overpowered her by holding her hand behind her back and tying them with his handkerchief. She felt ravaged and used, and she was never the same again. She kept it a secret from her mother as she knew this would kill her. She vowed that one day she would take revenge. For a long time, she would dream about it, and the unpleasant dream would wake her from her sleep. Each time that it happened though, she would feel something strange come over her. Something that made her felt invincible. She felt afraid. She thought nothing of it until one day she became upset over something that someone said to her. She felt her whole body pulsing, and her arms became like iron. She lifted a drum of water and turned it over her head, drenching her. She clenched her fist and shouted at him.
“Get off your horse, Johnathan and let me rip your heart out”.
“You are no match for me, vixen”. He retorted.
She rose into the air and flew at him. She was not aware that she had such superpowers. She lashed out and missed his head by a few inches. Her hair stood straight in the air and she sprang from her horse and hovered in the air. Her feet were not touching the ground. She lunged at his eyes with sharp claws. He screamed and lashed out at her. He missed her, and she lashed out with feet that had grown over five feet. The beautiful goddess transformed into a snakelike creature. Large, metal-like scales covered her heart. She was beautiful and deadly. He was hit square in the stomach and fell with a thud. He lunged at her but he had limited superpowers. He could not fly. The sharp blades on his hands were no match for her scales and long feet. His horse had bolted. She now had the advantage. She flew around him, and her feet caught him in his neck, sending blood spewing all over the tall grass. He fought back, but each time Venus’ strength got stronger and stronger, he became weaker and weaker.
He tried to get up, but he staggered, a large gash in the middle of his forehead and one of his hands almost severed. He made one last ditched effort to get at her and came back this time with wings. She chopped them off, and he fell with a look of surprise in his eyes. He is defeated. He lay in the grass, transformed into a broken, ordinary man. Venus looked down at him and almost felt pity, but she could not. The power she now has was ultimately hers if she did not allow her heart to feel pity. He kept staring at her, but no words came from his mangled lips. He tried to hold out his one good hand for her to help him, but she turned her back. She heard him crying softly, but she did not look around.
She slowly walked away, and as she did, the sun shone in her hair and made it black as opal. Her complexion was creamy white, and she was slowly transformed into a seductive figure again. Large dark brown eyes, framed by long lashes shone, competing with the sun, and there was an aura about her. She was Venus, a girl raped because she looked like a goddess. She walked on, never looking back, each footstep she made a rose sprung up and on the spot where her opponent is defeated, stood a large imposing evergreen tree. All trace of evil was eroded where good men choose to walk.
