Free Health Video Summaries Essay Example

There are many controversial subjects that we hear about almost every day. For this post, I chose videos that cover two of these topics: the Affordable Care Act and the Greenhouse Effect. Each video provided a surprising amount of information about each topic that I did not know in a way that’s easy to understand.
In the first video, ABC Action News described the new health insurance requirements under the Affordable Care Act and its impact on the population as a whole. Under this law, everyone in the United States is required to have health insurance; however, not everyone needs to obtain one of the Affordable Care Act’s plans. Additionally, there are age and earning thresholds that determine which plans a person should take. By providing these details, the legislation seems less scary. Of course, this video was made a few years ago, but it’s helpful to know that such a video was made. My reaction to this video is that it is very helpful but also seems simplistic. There are so many other aspects that go into determining a plan, such as subsidies, which are not even mentioned in the video. While this is a good introduction, it does not tell the full story.
The second video, by John P. Reisman, describes the foundations of the Greenhouse Effect. This seems to be a basic science video, as it lists the type of compounds that create the Greenhouse Effect as well as why this effect is necessary to keep us alive. Overall, due to industrialization, these gases have increased, causing the effect to continually increase, making the world warmer and warmer and reinforcing the effect. While I had heard of the Greenhouse Effect before, I did not know that naturally occurring gasses contributed to this effect. This effect seems so much more dangerous and uncontrollable than other people say. This should be the concern of our generation so that we can make sure it does not continue.
