The program is successful according to various statistics available. The number of children who receive food aid has increased by 150% from the year 2006. It was common for children to skip meals but now the children can have all the days’ meals that are nutritious. Additionally, through the effort of the program the number of working population has increased by 50%. It was the norm for many families to skip meals to save the little they have for their families since they did not have a source of revenue. In the year 2013, more than 553,000 Minnesotans received food aid from the federal government. However, as per now the program has managed to provide enough nutritious food to 50% of the working population and 554,000 of Minnesotans. This has surpassed the population that had received food donation from the government last year. Hence, the program has covered the population that required food assistance as per 2013. This has seen the organization shifting its other of objective of sustaining a healthier lifestyle. Through the effort of the program, 7,700 families of four members have assurance of three meals per day for the whole year.
The organization has been able to accomplish its objective of effective management of funds. This is because the organization by the end of 2013 has been able to receive donations of more than $8.3 which guarantees food donation to 7700 families for the whole year. The organization has also been able to achieve its target of 50% of working population which ensure families don’t skip meals.
The organization has not been able to achieve its target of eradicating food waste. The number of food going to waste is still more than 40%. Although, the number of food donation has rise, the organization has to increase its campaign on reduction of food wastage. The organization is yet to have a significant progress on educating the Minnesotans on food generating activities like farming. The organization cannot depend on donations alone. Thus, the organization should focus on this area by educating the Minnesotans how to generate food and how to sustain a healthy lifestyle.
