Question 1: Reasons for applying for the course or your research proposal
I wish to apply for MPhil in Innovation, Strategy, and Organization based on my personal passion for what I believe to be a challenging but really an inspiring course. I feel that this specific course will be an excellent preparation for my PhD study. I am very enthusiastic to broaden my understanding of social science methodologies along with their use in the interdisciplinary study of the organizations and I believe that this interdisciplinary program will be very helpful. My inspiration for longing to study the MPhil in Innovation, Strategy, and Organization at started during my early years.
After researching the best learning institutions in the world where I can pursue a graduate course in Innovation, Strategy, and Organization, I came across the University of Cambridge. I learned about the university’s EQUIS accreditations from the European Foundation for Management Development as well as the supportive learning support at the university. For this reason, I believe that the University of Cambridge through this course will give me the opportunity to both develop and acquire the relevant skills and expertise that I desire. In particular, I like the opportunity that MPhil in ISO offers through providing both the methodological and theoretical foundation for further research. I like the fact that the course employs an interdisciplinary approach and thus, I believe that this will make me master higher order thinking skills as affirmed by Jones (79). As a result, I believe that the course will inculcate both creative and critical thinking in me.
In my numerous internship experiences, I gained an insight about the role of innovation culture, the design of innovation processes, and the adoption as well as the impact of new technologies within the organizations. Therefore, I feel that the MPhil in ISO course will improve my understanding of the aforementioned concepts. Regarding the academic interests, I am deeply interested in Qualitative Research Methods, Econometrics I, Strategy and Innovation, and the Foundations of Organizational Analysis. I believe that this course will increase my understanding of social science methodologies, preparing me well for my future academic research. Since early days, I have always shown my desire to pursue a PhD degree hence this course will essentially make my dream come true.
Question 2: Career Goals and Future Aspirations:
I yearn to pursue a PhD degree in the future, and this course will be vital in preparing me adequately. The knowledge of social science methodologies that I will gain from this interdisciplinary program will assist me in narrowing down the possible areas for my PhD research. Besides, my career goal is to become a great scholar of organizational behavior, as well as organizational change and innovation. The Foundations of Organizational Analysis course will be very important in improving my knowledge of organizational behavior.
Also, the Information Systems, Innovation & Organisational Change course will improve my understanding of the connection between innovation, information systems, and strategic change. In addition, I aspire to learn why some organizations become more successful than the others. I strongly believe that the strategy and innovation course in this interdisciplinary program will be of much assistance to me in my efforts to understand the factors that contribute the success in the organizations. I believe that all the five core courses offered in the program will assist me in realizing all my career plans and intentions and ultimately make me realize my goals.
