Simply put benchmarking is the use of man external measure to measure the amount of success and one’s own results. Benchmarking includes measuring internal processes as well as identifying and adapting outstanding processes from the other organizations. They can be used to anticipate what kinds of needs are going to occur in the future and thus make the necessary changes.
For an IT company, Google and Facebook can be used excellent benchmarks. Google and Facebook have been top performers in the IT industry. Google has been ranked as the best search engine whereas Facebook ranks on top in terms of the social media.
Surveys, interviews and focus groups can be excellent methods of obtaining feedback from the customers. Written surveys can be used to get information from customers regarding how the company can make its products or services better. Similarly in person interviews can also be used to effectively gather information on what customers think of company’s products and services. Focus groups can be used to gather in-depth information regarding what can be done to overcome the weaknesses and gather more strengths.
Warranty cards can help gather information regarding customers’ personal preferences as well as the products they like and their purchase patterns. Similarly, customer service records can be used to gather information on what kind of help customers regularly need.
Being successful sometimes also means getting caught in the comfort zone. This is what the CEO is complaining about and he is worried about how to bring them out of their comfort zone.
The CEO needs to bring the managers out of their comfort zone and their lazy mind set. He can use innovative programs that can change the company culture as well as enable the managers to overcome the challenge and emerge out of the stagnancy that will create the platform for change.

Must have excellent communication skills and persuasive skills.
Excellent leadership skills.
The role of the leaders in my friend’s company is that of decision makers and policy formers. Apart from the senior management there are the mid-level managers who are leaders of their respective departments. They are consider leaders because they lead the people under them and encourage them to achieve their targets. The leadership could be better by making the environment inside the company more inclusive.
Leadership is all about trust and equity and in this regard leaders should value their followers and increase and value their participation. In creating a change leadership team I will use the input from the HR and the line mangers to find the right people and then discuss through a meeting how the goal can be achieved with these people. I willcreate synergy through my discussions and assign important roles to each member (Needles, 2013).
