Southwest Airlines is a U.S airline organization that is world’s largest lower cost carrier company. It has offered the valuable services to the customer and mostly serving the customers in the domestic country. I have found one major strength that it has experienced fast growth in its operations. The company was begun in 1967 and continuously serves the customers that have increased its revenues. The company has a good leadership team that added value to the organization and contribute to achieving the company objectives. The managers influence and motivate others to perform in right direction achieve good results.
The company has employed talented and skilled employees and created an effective relationship with them. The management has established the effective policies that increased the employees’ motivation and managed their performance. The company has managed its operations smoothly and effectively through the dedication of the loyal employees. I am very impressed with the slogan that is "Love Is Still Our Field.” It shows that the company has focused on providing the enjoyable service that increases the customers' satisfaction. Southwest Airlines has created a good relationship with its suppliers, employees unions, shareholders, and the government. It is committed to increasing the shareholder's wealth and meets their expectation. The company has experienced lowest accidents and other losses and it ensured that the company has effective health and safety system .
Southwest Airlines have little diversification in the organization culture and mostly employees belong to the domestic countries. They are mostly associated with the employee's unions that have affected the company operations. The technological development and innovation in services and international market expansion would enhance the company operations. The competition is very high in the airline industry that is a strong threat for the company. Globalization has increased the labor cost that increased the company cost .
The rating in EFE Matrix and IFE Matrix show the company effectiveness and its current strategies respond to strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The weighted score range from 4 to 1, where one means poor, two shows the average response; three shows above average, and 4 means superior. The score of IFE is 2.44 and EFE are 2.46 that show that the company has created an average response. It helps the company to determine the effective information about the major strength and weaknesses and make the sound decision for its growth and development .
