Reflection
1. Strong skills concern the responsibility for the work of the group and focus on specific tasks, without worrying about how to make complex decisions. The weak skills relate to the fact that the personality of the worker goes by the wayside. Also, authoritarianism often leads to a lack of creative solutions to current problems that may ultimately have a negative impact on the performance of the group.
2. A person with high EQ takes the initiative, finds ways out of difficult situation and solves the problem constructively. A characteristic feature of a well-developed emotional intelligence is friendliness. My level of EQ is moderate and I am in lack of pleasure in dialogue, but I try to avoid conflict situations, remaining self-sufficient, independent and realistic about my abilities.
3. Every manager, based on the nature and characteristics of the work situation as a whole, chooses one or another way to guide the team. However, being a leader does not always mean ordering and force. A good leader knows that the custody, support, soft instruction may have a much greater effect than strict instructions. Therefore, in different situations, different skills and qualities are required.
Action
1. The most important factor contributing to the active development of skills in using tools is to develop an appropriate management thinking. Practice-oriented, systematically organized and strategically directed professional thinking of managers is the foundation of their professional development and success. Stable professional management skills are possible to form only in the long-term target programs, where there is a possibility to organize a responsible independent students’ work on the basis of real projects and to check the results, implement the recommendations for the improvement of individual and team work (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright 113).
2. One of the most important aspects is the ability to transfer skills to future generations of leaders. That is how the abilities of all members of the organization are developed individually and together. Another advantage of the use of management tools is to increase motivation potential that results in high activity professional personnel (Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart, and Wright 135).
3. In order to become more effective problem solver, I have to learn how to set priorities properly. Sometimes, it is necessary to attract the person from outside to see the priorities. Secondly, it is important to learn to delegate responsibilities. Where powers are delegated, the head’s load is removed, the initiative is supported by own employees, which enhances their motivation to work and the willingness to take responsibility.
