Each of the four remaining presidential candidates possesses several positive traits of leadership. Competence and being focused are the most important traits that they have. Competence helps the leader in judgments and in decision making. Competence is allowing presidential candidates to find most appropriate solutions for problems. It is also helping in the establishment of trust and loyalty. Furthermore, competency is making candidates effective enough to take immediate decisions, and allowing implementation of new value-added ideas in order to solve political problems in an effectual manner. This leadership trait also helps in ensuring proper communication and collaboration. Additionally, the presidential candidates are focused on their work in order to remove distractions. Being focused is helping them in retaining clear minds, and emphasizing on important things or things of concern. Leaders are usually pulled in many directions; focus helps them to concentrate on the most essential things. The focus is facilitating leaders to consider their selves, people, and the whole world.
However, negative trait that is associated with leadership, and is possessed by remaining presidential candidates is that they are not giving importance to rational decision making, as a result of which they are unable to make appropriate decisions. They are unable to ensure informed decision making because of inadequate judgments that arise when rational decision making, which comprises of identification of problems, gathering information, analysis of situation, development of options, evaluation of alternatives, selection of appropriate alternative, and acting on a decision, is not followed. The remaining candidates are, however, not focusing on logic and consistency because of non-compliance with procedure of rational decision making. This is also paving the way to inefficiency in processes because candidates are not identifying exact problem.
