This paper discusses the significance of good leadership as a leader is the one who holds a prevailing and dominating position. A good leader is capable of creating a stimulating visualization of the future and can encourage and motivate people to connect with that vision.
The vision I had of a good leader has evolved over time. After attending the course, I realized that leadership is not all about ruling a country or a team. In fact, the rising theories of headship focus mainly on how leaders in the present era bring change by providing vision to the society. I believed that a leader is the one who implement policies for betterment and design better infrastructure for the civilization. The course changed my perception as it provided awareness that the major challenge which leaders of today’s era have to face is the developing world that needs a new and more professional archetype of leadership. According to Tice (2007), the new leadership’ paradigm includes the shift from constancy to change and disaster supervision, from opposition to the association, from equivalence to multiplicity, and from a self-interested focus to a greater moral purpose (Tice, 2007).
Earlier, for me, the good leadership was all about leading with the kindness and to make decisions for the betterment of the society. In today’s world, the leader has to be more optimistic, and his determination power should be strong in the developing society. The business leaders of the today’s world will have to be stimulated by own principles, rather than just concentrating on economic performance. The good leader as a social architect is supposed to play a significant role in the 21st century by aligning the systems intended to achieve the most important goal. The leader as a social architect understands the nature of their business and acts as a supervisor who provides the framework that helps in making the company more progressive.
