In the document presented, there are various grammatical errors, which involve colloquialism, passive voice, simplifying, use of commas and long sentences. For instance, a whole new world is a colloquialism that should be replaced with a completely new world. The first sentence also contains passive voice by placing the phrase “was begun” where it was not supposed to be. The sentence would rather read as follows. “The begun of the History of Education was in the very beginning of time”. The writer had also made a simplifying mistake by not considering replacing the last of the conjunction with a comma. For example put into practice what they have learned and not to forget what is heard and to be doer Instead, this part of the sentence should be as follows: put into practice what they have learned, not to forget what is heard and to be doer of the word. The document also contains subject/verb agreement where singular pronoun is not matched with a plural verb.
In my opinion, these grammatical errors were made because the writer did not consider some of the proofreading factors. The writer did not review his work after completion to ensure that there are no grammatical errors. He did not consider reading out his work loud so that his friends can help him to omit the errors.
The grammatical mistakes made in this piece of writing should be omitted by reviewing and revising the work after wittings to help the writer catch the grammatical errors. The writer should be able to look for the most common errors in grammar and try to mitigate the problem. Skimming the work could help the writer to minimize or eliminate all the errors in his work. The writer should also consider avoiding too long sentences to enhance effectives, conciseness and clarity of the sentence.
Question 3
The History of Education was begun in the very beginning of time. It is incorporated by a mixture of ideas, studies and social interaction.
Introduction
Many changes in this study will be focussed on the different subjects for students who make changes due to modern technology. Visually, there used to be hundred of record stores and libraries, but now with the introduction of kindles and readers with computers more people are downloading through iTunes and record store are almost all extinct and a thing of the past. Many students complain about their grades and this brings about grade inflation. In addition, most of the students are concerned about their final grades in a class setting so much so that they lose focus of the real answer at hand, which brings about knowledge which is great to help the individual understand things in life, because anyone’s motto is that “they have to learn something new every day” and this should always be applies to one’s daily life. In fact, a lot of students complain about their grades and the statistics reveal that 33.5 percent of American undergrads had a grade point average of “C” or below in 1999-2000.
In view of classroom activities going to class is cool, but sitting there life a vegetable and soaking all the information and not applying or using the information that you soaked in, doesn’t serve any purpose whatsoever. In the book of Matthew it was brought about a great example of the parable of the farmer scattering. Matthew 13:9. In essence, we read in James that anyone with ears should hear and listen as well as understand. James 2:17 and According to James, he stated that “faith without works is dead and having faith is great, but they need to apply the faith to their everyday lives according to James1:22.
In addition, the readers were instructed by Scripture to put into practice what they have learned and not to forget what is heard and to be a doer of the word. In the book of Hosea, we read “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6. It was mentioned by the author that it is important to read books, magazines and newspapers; it was stressed by him the importance of using the brain more and not to be occupied with using the computer as much and lose sight of picking up and reading a great book or magazine and newspaper.
The philosopher, Alfred North Whitehead, said “A merely well informed man is the most useless bore on God’s earth.” It was argued by the philosopher or a scheme of education that carried the student beyond the absorption of information through more wisdom and taking more action. In fact, in education, when the instructor and students are familiar and socially interact with a great atmosphere, it brings about that happiness and radiance to want to learn more with a willingness to respond and adapt to the classroom and challenges.
In fact, grade inflation can prepare an individual for college and after college. In essence, grades with feedback for students actually help students to improve and it also help the students more easily when they apply in the job market. In addition, Oliver Milton and his colleagues discovered that “grade orientation” and a “learning orientation” on the part of students tend to be inversely related. “In a healthy university it would not be necessary today; however, what is wrong with grade inflation according to “Harvey Mansfield, is that he asserted an opinion last year according to what was posted in the Chronicle, April 6, 2001. The Journal of the American Medical Association and the American Educational Research Journal suggested that the grade and test scores do not predict career success or much of anything beyond subsequent grades and test scores. However, “A four year analysis of almost 78,000 university of California students published last year by the UC presidents’ office, found that the test predicted only 13.3 percent of variation in freshman grades, which roughly consistent with hundreds of previous studies. The more people are rewarded, the more they come to lose interest in whatever had to be done, in order to get the reward.
Conclusion
It is reaffirmed by the latest major meta-analysis that a review of one hundred and twenty eight studies was published in 1999 by Edward L. Deci and Richard Koestner and Richard Ryan. In scripture it clearly stated that children learn from the older generation and the older generation’s knowledge is passed through the new generation written in Psalm 78:3-8. In the book of Proverbs it instructed that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline and to listen to your father and mother. In the Proverbs the mother also instructed her son to listen to the instruction of his fathers and do not forsaken his mother’s teaching in fact the mother instructed her son that he will be like a “garland to grace their head and a chain to adorn their neck.”
Overall, through education I have learned a lot of different topics and subjects and a lot of knowledge in many different courses. In fact education keeps your mind busy and focused in order to keep your mind focus at the task at hand. Throughout history education had been applied, not only by listening but by doing, as well. However, times have changed in a majority of ways, along with technology of computers, kindles and phones. With the recession and tough time, a lot of people are going back to school, not only for monetary compensation, but to also brush upon anything that they have missed or to get a glimpse of a refresher course in a study.
While attending, college it helps me to learn more and to open up my mind to a whole new world of challenges questions and key information which was vital to my success in real life. I agree with Bill Gates with the gift to America’s public libraries for 200 million to get their internet, because that will helped a lot of people who are enrolled in school and who get the internet disconnected, because they could not pay the bill due to the recession and lost their job and because they lost their phones and smart phones because their service was disconnected.
The library enables people to look for employment and to also browse the internet and check job posting and finish an important class paper without missing any important days. I feel that this helps personally, because I had my internet off and the library helped me to check my email, even if it is for one hour, I would go to the library and then to the Employment Development Department (EDD) office to use two different computers at two different locations. At first I would use the library to check my email and to respond to job posting and browse the web for various jobs; then I would go to the Employment Development Department office for various job listings specified through EDD for approximately two hours which was well worth it. Many students can utilized the library and finish writing important papers and final exams. In essence, education is the key to understanding and growing and to have more knowledge to share with others throughout life.
