It is crucial for a person to make use of their talents, and this is because they are God-given, and it is only through his grace that he gives us talents. All that we receive from God is not by our right but by favor from God hence we should use them to serve Gods creations (Armstrong and Bell) Talents matter throughout all time and to all people because at any given moment there is a person who is in need of services provided by another’s talent and since talents are God given we should make use of them at all time and to all people.
My strengths are first I am an achiever, this means that I never give up, however hard the task is I push until I achieve success. It always becomes very useful when I am involved in group work as my determination to achieve keeps the group focused on the task until it is done. My second strength is my connectedness, and it enables me to network with many people, and this is important when one is offering service to humanity. Being connected also enables me to associate with different people irrespective of their social status, race or religion. Thirdly I am a learner, ability to learn is very important to serve humanity, In the course of serving people one may travel to other countries and this will entail learning the language and culture of the natives so as to be able to interact with them productively. Also in serving people one needs to be wise and wisdom is achieved by taking in counsel from seniors and reading widely. Finally, I am disciplined and consistent, when dealing with people high level of discipline is required, and one’s behavior should be consistent. It is important so as to build the trust of the people one is working with.
My life’s mission is to be a social worker and these talents that God bestowed onto me will help me to serve humanity well. When dealing with issues that touch on people’s lives one must never give up, they must connect well with the people they are serving, they must be ready to learn, be disciplined and consistent so that people can build trust in you.
