Evaluation
The movie is interesting, depicting the contemporary life of the heritage rich China. The management of the character and the sounds are well done to pull through the theme of the movie. The only thing would be how the character metamorphose through. For example, one would ask the question of how Ge You lost the property which was his father’s. This did not come out clearly. It ought to have been shown that he had been bequeathed his inheritance and squandered through gambling.
Conclusion
The movie is interesting to watch, especially if one has some interest and or insight in the Chinese political and historical times. It however depicts what is common in war-ravaged societies where members of the family are involved in one way or another. The challenges put forth are easy to identify with. It is interestingly melodramatic.
