Free Movie Review About Understanding The Definition Of Integrity

It is an evident fact that the term integrity is used in a different context that changes its meanings pertaining to the subject where it applies. For instance, integrity of the written content may be questioning its originality. The same concept being applied to the situation of the building would interrogate its ability to withstand the load. The purpose of this paper is to formulate a personal definition of integrity and then apply it to the scenarios taken from the episode of Malcolm in the Middle entitled, “Water Parks”. In such a manner, it will be easier to understand the contextual meanings of the situations.
Firstly, in order to formulate the proposed and personal definition of integrity, one must be aware of the context where it can be applied. Since I have to apply the definition of integrity on the episode “Water Parks”, I would rather define integrity as a role and responsibility of an individual to perform care of duty. In simpler words, it can be said that every individual need to make sure that they can show respective attention needed for the job that they have been assigned naturally, or by choice. The aspect of care of duty makes it more professional. Herein, it can be marked that understanding the definition of integrity can greatly change your outlook to the roles that are played by each.
Let us know now look at the situations or scenarios from the chosen episode where the question of concern regards integrity. The first scenario from the episode is where Hal and Lois plan to hire a babysitter for Dewey. Herein, it needs to be noted that the issue of integrity is in terms of hiring just anyone. In the episode, the viewers can observe that the babysitter hired for Dewey was overage that was not able to take care of Dewey. It denotes that being the guardians of Dewey, were not able to take a decision that was strong in terms of integrity. They were unable to understand the need of hiring a babysitter who was capable of taking care of the child. Also, being a parent, their duty was to cancel or postponed the plan of going to the water park. It was merely because their child was not feeling well. The couple could have rather stayed at home to take care of Dewey.
Second scenario from the episode was Hal’s action to smuggle rum into the park. It indicates that being a citizen; Hal was not able to take care of his duty. It was merely his immaturity to think in such a manner. It was against the rules of the park that clearly illustrates that a person who takes no control over the obligatory action then he is not able to show integrity in terms of his or her acts.
Thirdly, the critical scenario was where Hal and Lois ignored the fact that they had to take care of their two children who were at the park with them. Herein, it can be well-asserted that being a parent is a very critical and significant task that one should be able to do. Hal and Lois could not take care of their two children who were with them. Despite their presence, they overlooked the fact that they needed attention. As parents, it can be said that the couple in the episode are not at all showing integrity in their roles.
Again, one can notice the scene and the poor illustration of no integrity when the responsible attendant of the top of the monster water ride overlooks that he needed to stop people from going to the ride. There were many instances where one can notice that the rules of the water ride were ignored. The person was responsible for making sure that such acts were not taking place rather ignored the care of duty. It is a very proper example of overlooking the fact that care of duty that falls into the conceptual definition of integrity.
Also to be noted is the fact that back in the house; the babysitter is taken away in an ambulance. One can notice that it is a care of duty by the ambulance that they were able to take the babysitter for healthcare. However, the absence of integrity becomes evident when the attendant or the in-charge of the ambulance that they left the young boy alone at home. There could have been a number of ways through which they could have made sure that Dewey was not alone. One of the ways could be calling 911 help so that the children were under attendance of someone until his parents came back.
Thus, from the above analysis, one can notice that there can be lack or absence of integrity in our day to day routine. There can be increased a number of examples where people fail to show integrity. Therefore, it can be concluded that the integrity is a mere illustration of care of duty.
