‘Restrepo’ is a documentary that depicts the Afghanistan war. Sebastian Junger, an American journalist along with photographer, Tim Hetherington has made this documentary. The duo has recorded the movie while accompanying a platoon in a very dangerous warfare, korangal valley in Afghanistan. Junger and Hetherington have a good experience of war zones and known for their excellent works as well as bravery. This documentary was made by duo while they stayed with the American troops in the Afghanistan. There they sensed life death emotions, and several other things related to the war in a very close way. The film makers spent more than one year time in the dangerous terrains with American soldiers and recorded fights, several continuous bore hours without knowing what is happening in the rest of the world and horse rides by the soldiers. The duo interviewed soldiers in the order to know that what they sensed during the war, to know what they think of their struggle, how they survive and many other things. The movie describes the true account of soldiers, incidents, and war along with giving an insight about American soldier’s life in the tough warzones like Afghanistan. People of America come to know about the tough life that soldiers live in Afghanistan in order to fulfill the wishes of American people and leadership.
The movie has got wide acclamation and awards for such a real portrayal of American soldiers, their life in a dangerous warzone. The documentary is different from other movies on wars as it has no drama or politics involved into it but is a true account of war.
