Why do you think the reason for the death of the prisoners kept silent and named as a natural cause?
How did the descriptions of the different prison camps were presented? What empowered your imagination more, the pictures on the screen or the voices of the men?
What kind of right/wrong issue does the movie rise? What do the US soldiers star to loose in the prisons while controlling the prisoners? How did they change? Do you think that the soldiers had the moral right and enough moral strength to withstand the pressures they might have felt from the top? Were the pictures necessary?
Doctors of the Dark Side by Martha Davis
Do you believe it truly is ethical to torture single people for the well-being of a nation or of a bigger amount of people?
Do you think that these doctors were making their own decisions when abusing their position?
Should each individual doctor be persecuted for fulfilling orders given from the top or for the results of the orders they received from their higher officers?
Both of the movies raise very delicate issues but are very brave to do so. The government is not always right and power does get to the head. Sometimes in the race to the goal we forget about the important things like moral and ethics. Everyone needs to be reminded of them. At times, a reminder must be more than just a small note or sentence. At times, it has to be as powerful as a movie.
