When I first started my fitness program it completely wore me out, but I knew it would get better so I did not ease up. After a couple weeks the exercise became more of a habit and I started to feel much better, especially knowing that I had stuck to it. After I got halfway through the experience I noticed I was sleeping much better because I was able to breathe so much better than I had before, and I started to enjoy the exercise. Towards the end I started eating healthier because I wanted my exercise to make more of a difference, and by the end I was really happy at how comfortable I had become with my healthier lifestyle.
Standing on one foot for balance and agility training was really interesting because I was surprised at how much body control it required. One week I did exercises that worked out my legs and feet, and that week I kept getting tired in the middle of my workouts. Since I spend so much time on my feet already I thought that maybe working out my feet made everything else more tiring.
Regularly working out in such a structured, comprehensive way was pretty daunting at first because I was so sore and tired, and still had to go back and do more. I knew it would get better and easier once my body and mind were in the habit of it. I learned that the exercise did more than just get easier though; towards the end I felt great, and not just my body. The last few weeks I enjoyed the exercise and was in a better mood all the time and had more energy. Maybe it was because of my improved sleep, but I felt happier and found myself wanting to eat healthier because it felt better. My overall fitness and physical endurance improved, and the benefits of feeling healthy were so reinforcing I started to want that healthy feeling all day and made healthier choices. I had always thought eating healthy was something you had to force yourself to do, not something you could want to do to. This course helped me figure out a schedule and exercises that I am comfortable with, and showed me that I was capable of staying in shape. It also showed me the feeling of accomplishment that comes with regular training.
