Based on the work experience, my work behaviors are characterized by value based leadership, ethics, fairness and observation of organization policy. Evidently, I can manage myself well. I also understand that to be effective at IRIS, my values have to be compatible with the IRI’s values. This shows that I practice principles of Equity theory by helping employee go through all the stages without favor, but assisting them to improve show desire to empower and engage. This is participatory leadership model. Equity theory of motivation is centered in the notion that persons are motivated by fairness, and if they recognize inequalities in the input/output shares of themselves and their respective group, they will pursue to modify their input to attain their alleged equity.
I also exhibit the traits of the The Path-Goal leadership model. The Path-Goal concept is centered on identifying a leader's flair or behavior that best fits the worker and work situation so as to achieve goals. The goal is to raise a follower’s’ motivation, liberation, and gratification so that they become industrious members of the organization. This is exactly what I do by supporting the immigrants to master English. The reason as to why many immigrants do love to work under me is as a result of my almost-perfect leadership styles. I help them know that it is not their mistake not to know English and they should not blame anyone. However, I tell them the hard truth that some failures and weakness like lack of job due to inability ti communicate is preventable. They have to empower themselves by mastering spoken and written English language through my guidance and support.
