Summary: This research was carried out with the aim of considering the experiences of nurses within the Chiapas area in Mexico. The main aim of the research was to find out how one would be able to better the working conditions at the hospitals and the other medical institutions in the nation. This was important due to the fact that, the area is a rural area and hence the area may lack various resources and it may be difficult for the members of the public to be able to access the hospitals and the government would further have a difficulty in being able to bring the requirements to the institution.
This research was carried out by use of questionnaires and interviews of the nurses and the other medical practitioners in the area. From all the interviews it was clear that the major problem that faced the nurses in the area was the lack of resources. This in turn negatively affected how they perform their obligated duties. In addition to this, they were further faced with a major problem of illiteracy among the members of the community. This was noted from a foreign nurse who was unable to merely communicate with her patients due to the language barrier. Lastly, it was clear that the amount of funding that the government releases for the area is inadequate and it needs to be increased and the infrastructure around the province must be improved in order to be able to adequately perform their duties.
This will be very useful in determining the various gaps that are in the health sector and mostly in the rural areas.
