- Which of these tools do you see as being useful to use in future teaming endeavors? Why?
In my future teaming endeavors, I see that Google Talk and Google Drive are going to be useful in terms of collaboration and management of team documents. Both of these web tools are free of charge and all you have to do is to register. You only need one single account to access both and do not need to jump from one account to another.
Google Talk is easy to use. All you need is a microphone and speaker and internet connection. It allows sending of messages among your team anytime and anywhere in the world. Simultaneously, you can access your Gmail account where you can administer your emails. It also permits you to send files to your teammates with no file size or bandwidth constraints. On the other hand, Google Drive authorizes you to manage your documents in the cloud where it is going to be accessible to everyone within your team. It offers more free storage to give you more space for many types of files to manage. Google Drive also offers good search capability using keywords search.
- What other online tools do you know of that may be useful in a team environment? Provide the link to each tool and a brief summary of how each can be used?
Other online tools that are useful in a team environment include SlideShare, ZohoDocs and Zoho Projects.
SlideShare authorize users to upload deck of files that are viewable publicly or privately. These files include presentations, infographics, documents, videos, webinars or PDFs. It is accessible through http://www.slideshare.net/. Zoho Docs, on the other hand, is document management software that allows users to store, share files, and documents online. It also has online word processor where team members can directly update, share and provide comments about a specific document. It is accessible through https://www.zoho.com/docs/ . Finally, Zoho Projects is a free online collaboration and project management tool that allows everyone in team to see the progress, milestones, targets and deadlines of tasks online. This is accessible through https://www.zoho.com/projects/ .
Team Case Studies
- Summarize how the team functioned to complete their project.
The team appears to work individually and do not collaborate and communicate to achieve the goal of the project. Expressing disappointment and disagreement does not help the group to work closely. Also, there are no defined ground rules on how the team will resolve issues and challenges that will come ahead. As a result of this, no work is done. They did not establish any connection of their work among each other. Overall, the completion of their task as a group is impossible because of how they manage the work.
- For each person identified on the team, what are his/her positive/negative qualities?
