Team cohesiveness when it comes to organizational behavior needs to recognize the fact that people cannot work alone so that they deliver on the organization’s goals. It requires that those who are in charge of those teams work together in maintaining the group cohesiveness. To maintain group cohesiveness, the group has to consider recognizing and embracing diversity in each of the team members. It will give each person within the group some sense of belonging and they will feel appreciated as they go about their responsibilities. It gives people the morale for working together since they will feel that they do not have to hide who they actually are to fit within the group. Embracing diversity helps in achieving group cohesiveness since it serves to appreciate each person’s differences and the roles that they contribute to the team’s effectiveness.

In the event that a decision should be made, exchanging information from all those who take part in the decision process helps in strengthening the group since their get to express their opinions about various issues that they feel should be tackled as they would like to. It allows for pooling ideas hence allowing for creation of more possible solutions to a given problem. Exchange of information gives people the opportunity to understand problems from other people’s views resulting in various approaches. Besides, when the team members are given the opportunity to be part of the decision making process it strengthens the bond between them and their leaders and amongst themselves. It encourages open communication within the group given that information flow will be two way.
