Free Organizational Culture At Frostburg State University Essay Example

Frostburg State University (FSU) is a national college with a strong organizational culture based on good values and practices. The university fraternity believes in offering its students a wide range of academic and non-academic opportunities as embodied in its motto. FSU has heroes in both curricular and extracurricular activities such as games, community service and arts and design. In its marketing, FSU projects a wonderful place for students to explore their academic and non-academic talents, discover their full potential and contribute to the general good of the community as they develop. I can confidently attest the reality of this through my experiences at the varsity. For example, the school offers top quality academic facilities and research opportunities, as well as invests in extra-curricular activities such as sports. I propose that students and leaders commit to the values of the university by working devotedly in both academic and non-academic areas, co-existing amicably and exploiting their potential for their good and that of the community at large. This will augment the college’s outstanding organizational culture.
As a student in FSU, I realize that I am a key player in its cohesively productive organizational culture, which I am proud of being part of. Going by my experiences, FSU has a friendly, value-based climate in which every student and faculty member is free and facilitated to pursue their academic and non-academic goals without any limits, with integrity and concern for others. The varsity fraternity can build on the positive facets by promoting the good values and cultivating mutual, productive working relationships whenever and wherever.
An organization’s culture and climate are two different things, although it may be somehow difficult distinguishing the two. A climate describes values and perceptions towards working relationships, while the culture refers to shared beliefs, attitudes and practices. As an organizational member, I ought to uphold the values and good relationships, and abide by the organization’s shared beliefs and practices to advance its objectives. As a leader, I would lead by example and use my influence to motivate the other members to uphold the institution’s good values and organizational culture.
