I can say that business is in my genes. With a mother who runs a hotel and a father who owns an IT company, I think that it would be only natural for me to follow in their footsteps. I am currently completing a degree in Finance and I plan to further my education by attending business school.
I am highly proficient in my major, as evidenced by my excellent grades and my membership in the Golden Key International Honor Society. Even prior to this, I have been an honor student while completing an Associate in Arts and Sciences degree and was a recipient of the Bellevue College International Students’ scholarship. Needless to say, I am good with numbers and have an excellent understanding of accounting and financial concepts. However, despite having these proficiencies, I believe that I still have a plethora of knowledge and skills to develop when it comes to business. In this regard, I am confident that your school will be the best learning ground for me.
I love doing business with people and I am greatly passionate about gaining more knowledge and understanding about finding solutions to business problems. Even as a student, I like taking the leadership role in group activities where I love facilitating decision-making processes. I believe that I can easily transfer these skills to a business role in the business world where decisions need to be made based on economic information.
This is not to say that I am not a good team player, though. Although I love leading teams, I also genuinely enjoy being a part of teams in every sense. Not only do I love working with my schoolmates, I also love working with people in general. I love making a difference in other people’s lives even if it’s just in some small way. As indicated in my resume, I have participated in many volunteer activities, which have allowed me to work with teenagers, the elders, and foreigners. I’ve also held jobs where I worked with children. Although these experiences were not necessarily business-related, they still added to my learning in that I learned to interact with people of various backgrounds and these experiences also gave me a chance to be exposed to the various sectors of our society. I believe that these experiences will come in handy when I do get to work in the business world, which would also entail working with people of various backgrounds and with the different sectors of the society. In addition, I am capable of speaking four different languages, namely English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Mandarin. I am confident that these, too, will enable me to work with business people from different countries and who speak different languages.
I believe that I have made all the necessary preparations to qualify for admission in business school. With my innate business and financial skills, as well as my capability to interact well with people, I know that completing a degree in business is the right thing for me to do and is the next step for me in my career path. With a business degree, I plan to go back to my country and work for a business company or work with my parents in their businesses. Indeed, having a degree in business will open many doors for me, and I am truly excited with all the possibilities. However, I also recognize that I need to start somewhere and I believe that your prestigious school would be the best place to start. In this regard, I would consider it a great privilege should you consider my application to your academic institution’s business program.
