I do not remember myself not being fascinated by the medical industry. When I was a kid, I travelled a lot, as my father worked in Korean-American joint air force. Thus, I had a perfect chance to see different situations and circumstances, in which people lived and worked. As my stepmother was a senior pharmacist, I also saw how in all the places we travelled to she was helping people. I decided back then that I also want to find a way to be useful for as many people as possible.
After that initial decision, a long road waited for me before the current moment and decision to pursue the degree of the Doctor of Pharmacy. From the very beginning, I knew that becoming a professional in the chosen sphere was not an easy option. I witnessed how hard my mother worked, but I also saw what a great work she was doing and what fascinating results she achieved. Thus, even then I prepared to do my best to become a great professional in what I do.
In different countries where we have been, I saw that people were all different, but at the same time common in certain aspects. All of them, despite their social position, the general situation in the country, etc. had their traditions, values and life stories. What I especially liked about the medical industry is that it could help them all, no matter the differences. I saw that in fact, it is the most universal and definite way to change life of many people around the planet for the better. I understood that this was perfect for me.
When there came time for me to decide what I wanted to do in life, I hesitated a little between dentistry and pharmacy, but very soon, I understood that the latter variant is much more interesting for me. In this way, I feel that I can be more useful for the people around me and apply my skills and knowledge in the American military base, which is my long-term goal for the future. To achieve it, in the nearest future I want to go to the School of Pharmacy and get the proper knowledge and skills for the profession.
Not a long time ago, another important effect marked the beginning of a new period in my life. Within the last spring semester, my biological mother died of breast cancer. At that time, it was very hard for me to study in school, which is why I had to withdraw from school for some time. In that difficult period, I understood how important it is in life not to postpone everything to the end and use every single day to approach my goal and make lives of the surrounding people better. Now I am ready to continue my education, which will be an important step forward in bring my dream into life.
I know that in my future I have a lot to achieve and overcome. I know that the way towards my aim is still difficult. Still, I understand that with my clear desire and great aim, there is nothing in my life to stop me from it. All I need now is an opportunity to get proper education in the field of pharmacy, and I believe that I can be useful in the school with my experience and determination.
