Over the past few years, I have attained a blend of diverse scientific knowledge, time management and analytical skills. Being born in a period where science thrives and is persistently employed as a foundation to resolve all individual’s problems, I yearn for the knowledge it bestows. Life as a student at University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, brought rewards and challenges that I think promoted and contributed volumes of positive effort into my temperament.
I was introduced to the concept of Public Health and Community Medicine since the beginning of medical school. I liked many aspects of it. I believe the Public Health Studies (e.g. MPH) is essential for every physician in the 21st century. I graduated in 2011 from College of Medicine, University of Dammam, Saudi Arabia. I attained a general medicine and surgery degree from the institution. At the University of Dammam, I received the "Honor Medical Student" awards 2 times.
I was the leader of my class contributed much in many curricular and extracurricular activities in my college. I also extended my leadership qualities through coordinating numerous events within Dammam University. I was a coordinator of the Lifestyle Modification Health Promotion Exhibit, the Medical Career day in 2011, and the Internship Orientation Day. Additionally, when I was in the last year of medical school, I was appointed by the Dean as a Student member of Career Advisory office to work with senior faculty members and offer the medical students with advice and assist them with planning for their future career in medicine through several group activities, as well as individual sessions.
I have continued to enhance my medical knowledge since graduating from Dammam University. In order to enhance my ability to reach out and help others, I have acquired a basic life support certificate issued by the American Heart Association, A U.S. pre-clinical healthcare acculturation certificate issued by the AmeriClerkships Medical Society, and a primary HIPAA online training certificate.
I am interested in applying MPH in Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for countless reasons. First, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is Number one Public Health School in the World. Secondly, getting MPH degree will help me to achieve my goals. Thirdly, my country needs experts in this field as it can improve the national health care. Fourthly, the field of research is the future of medicine, for me as an academic physician I need to build strong knowledge and Skills in that field, as well. Lastly, among the wide range of sub-tracks in the Public Health studies, I am interested in Health leadership and Management.
I am a self-motivated, indomitable person and look forward to attaining the MPH degree, which will give me the essential knowledge and skill to be a professional doctor who deals with medicine as a global practice.
