Brief Background to the Topic
MYSQL is a relational database management system and falls under the category of application software. It runs a server that provides a multiuser access to a number of databases. It is a powerful and the most popular open source Software relational database management system. MYSQL was started in 1995 under the name of MySQL. However in 2008, the company was then sold to Sun Microsystems at a cost of 1 billion dollars. The study of MYSQL helps to gain the understanding on how different IT systems can integrate and connect to a database. It also helps in gaining an understanding how information in a database can be easily updated without changing everything in the database.
IS/IT-RELATED CONTENT
MYSQL is very common especially for uses in web applications. It is also used in some of the most frequently used web sites on the internet. Some of the applications that use MYSQL include Wikipedia, Google, Facebook, YouTube and Nokia.com. MYSQL is written in C++ and C languages. MSQL has two different variants namely: community server and the commercial enterprise server. MYSQL is a relational database management systems and do not have any graphical user interface tools to administer MYSQL databases or manage the data that is contained within.
MANAGEMENT ACTION
Technical changes that need to be adopted for the technical change or update:
- The users need to be trained on how to use the product
- The computer systems need to be upgraded so that they can be able to handle the product.
How the product is likely to impact their work
- Efficient management of the database
- Real-time update of the database
How to implement new information about the system
- The system can be easily updated through entering information into the update server that will distribute all the information different parts of the system.
