A. I am an average student. I try and keep to myself and am definitely no head-turner. I had no direction and lacked the motivation to achieve anything worthwhile in life.
B. I’m sure that each one of us in class today have had moments that have greatly impacted the course of our lives, and what I’m about to tell you has impacted my view of life considerably.
C. Today I’m going to tell you how Susan made me feel important. She also made me realize that I could play an important role in teaching students understand and value different cultures. Had it not been for that moment when I met her, my life would have drifted along till I completed my course and went back to my home country.
II. Body
A. Failures are part of life and every one is bound to experience it sometime in their life. This happens because of a number of issues including that of ignorance.
1. Everybody goes through a time in life when they face difficulties and failures and end up cursing their bad luck. However, if instead, they chose to examine the reason for their failure and used it as a yardstick to stop such mistakes from happening again, they could succeed.
B. If it hadn’t been for her, I would never have understood how good an ambassador I am for my country.
1. There are a number of foreign students in my college and I don’t think they have had the privilege like I had to interact with a girl who made me believe that I could make a world of difference to the learning curve of students of my class.
C. Make life meaningful
1. We may never get a better chance than now to teach our friends about our culture. As a student here, I am blessed with the gift to teach my classmates about the different customs we have in our country and that they should come to our country to experience the hospitality, its past and present, and its culture. Thanks to that girl, I have understood how precious this opportunity to study in this college is, and make full use of the time here to make new friends.

B. I am fortunate enough to be a student in this college. Not every student gets the opportunity or luck to travel so far from their home to study in an alien land. I would not have realized this had it not been for Susan. She was the one who changed my perspective on life and has done me a great service by making me understand how important a person I am.
C. I have new friends now and I have invited them to my country after graduation. I am sure that this small beginning will lead to a better and healthier long-term relationship among us. Had it not been for Susan, I would have walked away just as another international student.
