Process Analysis
In our learning institutions, we are imparted with skills and knowledge to become better citizens and most importantly succeed academically. However, academic achievements override other goals for being educated and most students focus much on passing exams and succeeding in their career. As such, student can improve his or her career while in school in several ways (Archer & Hughes 2011). I present this paper as a set of instructions on how as a student, you can reach your career goals. The instructions focus on not only bettering grades, but also setting groundwork for future career. The paper is based on the motivational articles and speeches that I have found to be useful to us as college students (Villa, Thousand & Nevin, 2010).
As you all know, we have dreams to live a quality and prosperous life after school. To achieve this prosperous life, we have to make sure that we lay strong foundations at this stage in life. The grades and education that we get from school are certainly, what will make us find better jobs and lead a quality life except to some of us who are born from rich families. To achieve the ranks, there are set instructions that I would like to share with you (Archer & Hughes 2011).
While in school, it is important to focus on the central objective that brought us in here, which is education. This is the first instruction that students can get once they enter the college, it is what has to keep them in school for the specified period. Focusing on education will enable you to remove distractors that deter you from attaining quality grades but also gain requisite skills. Employers would appreciate your knowledge and service if only you managed to gain particular competencies from school. Focusing on education requires proper time-management, discipline, thorough reading, study, and dedication to overcome the odds (Villa, Thousand & Nevin, 2010).
The second other important rule is the company that you keep as a student. Social scientists have discovered that an individual's company and environment has strong influences on his or her behavior. The same holds for students in college, the group that a college student keeps will determine whether he/she is determined to excel. Maintaining a company of lazy people will make you lazy, similarly, a company of hardworking and focused students will make one focused and fit to attain quality grades. As students, I encourage you to select friends well and oppose negative influences that may jeopardize your core business in school (Villa, Thousand & Nevin, 2010).
Respect is of the essence, particularly, when it comes to learning and adhering to school regulations. Respect should not only be towards parents, but also to teachers and fellow students in college. A value will make your stay in college comfortably and without constraints. Once you have respect for others, it will be easier for you to be respected and you will have a comfortable environment for learning in which you will attain good marks and experiences (Archer & Hughes 2011). A common adage says that respect is a two-way lane you give and take. As such, respecting others equally earns you respect.
In school, it is necessary to follow the guidelines and behavioral codes that guide classroom and school environment norms. Concisely, the instructions are there to guide students on the general behavior and the general routines of the school. In particular, to better adhere to instructions one has to learn to listen, decode and communicate effectively to seek clarifications and feedback. In conclusion, respect, adherent to instructions and good company are an impetus towards a better stay in college and a Eureka for successful academic performance and career.
