All religions want to get fundamental truths though there are different means through which this is achieved. The lack of infighting amongst various rivals where one group may perceive their God to be superior is surely something that is of importance in the maintenance of peace worldwide as religious beliefs defines us. However different arguments relate to this notion, and they include the Prothero arguments. Prothero argues that the feeling of self-righteousness and equality in religion have affected the realm by not giving thought to religious clashes as there is a constant difference amongst all faiths. Religions do not share the same beliefs and values though most are similar in manner. This paper intends to research on the fundamental similarities and differences that exist while providing arguments for and against the central thesis.
Christians perceive this in a different manner as they view sin in a different way and see the solution as salvation. On the other hand, Muslims view sin in a different way where this is a problem and is only covered through submission. Buddhist, on the other hand, usually emphasize overcoming suffering as they are not looking to avert sin and get salvation as this is not central to their beliefs. On the key issue of God different religions have various standpoints on the issue. For instance, Jews believe in one God. Buddhists, however, believe that there is no God. Hindus are of the belief in many gods while Christians regard their one true God. For Muslims, Allah is the one true God as Muhammad is his prophet, political leader, military general and a patriarch of the family.
God is not viewed as the same in all religions as different denominations put particular importance on their God. There are different standpoints and influences on the various religions that cause different beliefs among individuals. The impact is a central theme in elucidating the importance of the different religions in God as some are ready to die for their faith. Critical parameters are placed in the confines of various beliefs as we all perceive God in different ways based on religious perceptions.
Arguments that indicate that God is one are many, and this goes to show that there is one true God. All religions have a God, and religious beliefs and values are centered towards ensuring that dedication is steadfast towards the Lord. God is eternally the same however what differs is the different religious beliefs that are existent among human beings. Therefore, individuals perceive God in a variety of ways. Religion is what separates individuals from one another though beliefs and values are centered towards one Divine Being. Human perception is what creates different religions however when one seeks connection with God this is achieved through mystical experiences that are useful in bringing one closer to their divine being. Through divine interventions, one is in oneness with their true divinity. Through mystical experiences, it is evident that humans seek to be united with God and mysticism are usually in all religions. Therefore, mystic intervention is sought through one God. In my opinion, there is one God what differs is the various world religions that vary from place to place and the degree of devotion to one's God and religion. The author asserts that different religious groups have various beliefs on God.
